Facility for multiple telephony.
The present invention relates to a device for simultaneously transmitting multiple telephone calls on a common wireline.
As in the case of electric wave telephony, high-frequency alternating currents are used for the transmission of the speech currents, and for the various conversations those of different frequencies that are in the common. Long-distance lines overlay all, but are separated on the receiving side by acting on different tuned resonance circuits that are connected to the individual receiving devices.
The characteristic of the present invention is that a relatively loose coupling between the long-distance line and the individual receiving circuits, as well as between the latter among themselves, is used in order to achieve a complete separation of the individual conversations and thus any, albeit weak eavesdropping, which is particularly important with one a large number of calls would be extremely disruptive.
In the drawings, some exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown, 1, 11, 2, 21, 3, 3 'are the corresponding speaking and listening points. According to the arrangement of FIG. 1, special high-frequency generators are used to generate the high-frequency currents, e.g. H. Arc exciter, i.e. H. Arcs with held parallel

Here the trains of weakly damped electrical oscillations are used for the transmission, which occur when the microphones M are influenced in oscillation circles connected to them. The microphones act similarly to the interrupter in Mass. devices for electrical wave telegraphy, they are connected in parallel to the capacities of the various transducer oscillating circuits, which also contain the microphone batteries B; the rest of the arrangement, in particular that of the receiving station, corresponds completely to FIG.
In the simplified arrangement of FIG. 3, the stations that could previously be used either only for speaking or only for listening can be supplemented to form complete stations that are suitable for both speaking and listening by working in a manner known per se a changeover switch is arranged, which connects the same oscillating circuit once with the microphone and the battery (speaking position), the other time with the detector, blocking capacitor and telephone (listening position).
As shown in Fig. 4, the changeover switch is expediently constructed in such a way that it automatically brings about the required change in the coupling of the oscillation circuit with the long-distance line when it is switched over, so that when speaking (through coil L,) there is a stronger coupling than when listening (through coil L2) -
PATENT CLAIMS: t. Device for multiple telephony by means of high-frequency electrical oscillations, characterized in that, on the one hand, a number of transmission oscillation circuits tuned to different frequencies (e.g.
B. Arc A 'with capacitance connected in parallel (' and self-induction L). whose vibrations are influenced by microphones (. On the other hand, an equal number of receiving oscillating circuits that are matched to corresponding numbers of oscillations and connected to suitable receiving apparatus (telephone T) are coupled.
