Der Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung bezieht sich auf die Herstellung eines   Zierüberzuges   für Gegenstände aller Art, welcher aus mit perlenartigen Erhöhungen versehener Fischhaut besteht. Zu einem solchen Zierüberzug eignet sich besonders die Haut vieler Rochenarten, die an ihrer Aussenseite kleine Erhöhungen (Perlen) von besonderer Härte trägt, welche durch kleine, von weicherem Material gebildete Zwischenräume voneinander getrennt sind. 



   Vor Überziehen des Gegenstandes mit der Haut wird dieselbe in bekannter Weise je nach der Farbe, die der mit ihr zu überziehende Gegenstand erhalten soll, mit Lohe, Alaun oder Dunst gegerbt, dann gebeizt und hierauf mit der entsprechenden Farbe gefärbt. Nun wird der betreffende Gegenstand mit der so vorbereiteten Haut überzogen. 



  Der Erfindung gemäss werden nun die Erhöhungen der Haut bis auf etwa eine halbe Dicke abgefeilt oder-geschliffen, dann die zwischen den Erhöhungen vorhandenen Zwischenräume mit Farbstoff ausgefüllt ; dann wird das Ganze Uberschliffen und mit Politur so oft poliert, bis die Fläche gleichmässig glänzt und nicht mehr einschlägt. 



   Das Material der zu überziehenden Gegenstände kann ein beliebiges sein, z. B. Holz, Leder, Metall, Karton usw. ; in erster Linie kommen Galanteriewaren in Betracht, die hiedurch ein eigenartiges und sehr gefälliges Aussehen und einen gleichzeitig sehr dauerhaften Überzug erhalten.
