Particularly clear glass flows are obtained if the mentioned oxides are mixed with the quartz in small amounts between fractions of 1% and 5%. But the mixing ratios are by no means limited. Economic considerations on the one hand and the requirements of consumers on the other hand leave many variations open, since glasses can be made not only from silica and one of the oxides, but also from all three components.
It is well known that titanium acid alone has a coloring effect on glass fluxes and it should be pointed out, without expressing any new inventive idea, that our new glass can be colored like normal glass or made porcelain-like opaque.
To melt the new glass, you can use an electric furnace or hot flames, e.g. B. oxyhydrogen or flames generated with oxygen-rich winds and hydrocarbons. The processing of the molten glass mass can be carried out according to the methods known from the glass industry, although with greater difficulties than this

PATENT. EXPECTATIONS :
1. A method of producing a glass mass, characterized. that you have silicon dioxide. as it occurs in nature in an anhydrous, pure state, with oxides of the elements of the carbon silicon group, most conveniently with titanic acid or with zirconium oxide or with titanic acid and zirconium oxide to form a glass mass that can be processed according to methods known from the glass industry.
