Device for generating shocks in the water for subsea signals and the like.

The present invention relates to a device which enables extremely rapid and very effective shocks or shock waves to be generated in the water, such as those that can be used with advantage for the transmission of subsea signals and the like.

According to the present invention, the shock waves are generated by means of an electrolytic circuit breaker immersed in water t, the discharges of which generate violent, extremely rapidly flowing disturbances with a corresponding current strength.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the invention. The electrolytic circuit breaker is located in a vessel a, which can also form one electrode of the breaker. As is known, the wall of this vessel does not prevent the propagation of the impacts emanating from the anode surface.
