EMI2.1
EMI2.2
entsprechend den jeweiligen technischen Erfordernissen abgeändert werden.

was only brought into action on the connection of alltimony pentachloride with acetylene, described by Berthelot and Jungfleisch. Obviously, no conclusions could be drawn from this as to the case that solid catalysts are used and the acetylene is brought to act directly on the chlorine dissolved in acetylene tetrachoride. One could not foresee whether under these conditions the prevention of explosions would be ensured and whether, as with the already proposed use of solid diluents, an exact measurement of the quantities of gas acting on one another would be unnecessary.
In addition, when using antimony pentachloride, the added acetylene tetrachloride only acts as a diluent, while in the present case it has been found that the catalytic effect is also significantly increased, i.e. the acetylene tetrachloride also apparently acts as a chlorine carrier.
The process is carried out, for example, in the following way: In acetylene tetrachloride, which is located in a vessel with iron filings, chlorine and acetylene are introduced at various points. Since acetylene tetrachloride is a good solvent for chlorine and a bad one for acetylene, the acetylene inlet pipe must be placed under the chlorine inlet so that the ascending acetylene always meets acetylene tetrachloride saturated with chlorine, with which it is immediately converted into acetylene tetrachloride with the help of the iron present. In this way, two different processes take place over time: 1. Chlorine solution in acetylene tetrachloride.
EMI2.1
The heat generated by the reaction is removed by cooling.
The acetylenetetrachloride formed runs off through an overflow pipe.
EMI2.2
be modified according to the respective technical requirements.
