Entsprechende Mittel können vorgesehen sein, um den Werkzeugtisch 31 an der Bettplatte 14 oder den Werkzeughaltern 41 am Werkzeugtlsch 31 zu sichern ; da aber die schwingbaren Schleif- scheiben 1, xi eine achsiale Hin-und Herl) ewegung des Werkzeuges verursachen, so ist es vor- zuziehen, dass der Wcrkzeugtisch 31 an der Bettplatte 14 gesichert wird und der Werkzeughalter 47 lose an dem Werkzeugtisch 37 bleibt, um dem Werkzeughalter 47 zu ermöglichen, frei an letzterem gleiten zu können ;

Bei einer Maschine, welche dazu verwendet wird, um nur flache Bohrer oder Nutenstosser oder Endstossstähle abzuschleifen, können die Lager dauernd in denjenigen Winkelstcllungen gesichert werden, bei welchen der gewünschte Hinterschleifwinkel hervorgebracht wird, wobei die Wellen 3, 4 zusammenlaufen, parallel gestellt sind oder auseinanderlaufen, je nach dem Winkel, welcher den Schneidkanten beziiglich der Achse des zu scWeif enden Werkzel1ges gegeben werden soll ;

Machine for relief grinding the cutting edge of a tool.
The invention relates to a grinding machine, in particular for relief grinding of drills and other tools or cutting tools, such as slot nuts and the like. The purpose of the invention is to enable such machines to provide a drill bit with the required grind behind each of its cutting edges in a single operation without the need to rotate the drill bit about its axis or move it angularly in a sideways direction.
EMI1.1
Front view of Fig. 1 with the bed plate in section, Fig. 3 is a plan view of the driving device arranged below the bed plate, Fig. 4 is a sectional view along line 4-4 of Fig. 5 in the direction of its arrows, Figs. 5 and 6 is One view each of the grinding wheel and accessories.
7, 8 is a front view and a side view, respectively, of the tool carrier; FIGS. 9, 10 are each a perspective view of different arrangements of the grinding wheels. 11, 12 are schematic views of tools which are slid with the grindstone arrangements shown in FIGS. 9, 10.
In the arrangement according to FIGS. 1 to 8, which is particularly suitable for grinding straight fluted and turned drills, two rotatable grinding disks 1, 2 are provided, the flat ones of which

to follow grinding tools.
In the illustrated embodiment, this vertical adjustment of the tool table 31 is effected by means of a spur drive 32 which meshes with a rack 33 of the support 34 of the table 31. The support 34 has a triangular cross-section (see dotted lines in FIG. 1) and can slide freely vertically in a correspondingly triangular sleeve 35 (FIG. 7) which is provided with a right-angled flange or foot 36 which extends back and forth is movable in guides 37 in the direction of the symmetry of the angle formed by the two grinding wheels 1, 2. The bed plate 14 is slotted to permit adjustment of the support 34 which it penetrates.
The drive 32 is secured to an axle 38 which is arranged in bearings of the sleeve 36 and is provided with a wheel or head 39 so that it can be rotated by hand for the purpose of raising and lowering the tool table 31. The sleeve 36 is also provided with an adjusting screw 40, whereby the tool table 31 can be secured in the required position.
The tool table 31 is provided with a tool holder 41 which can be moved in dovetail-like guides 42 on the table 31 and (Fig. 2, 7) is provided with a V-like groove into which the tool to be ground is inserted and more precisely Position can be held by a hinged on the sides of the tool holder 41 yoke 43. The horizontal member of the yoke 43 can come into engagement with the groove of a rotated drill in order to hold the same in the position in which its cutting edges are the same.
EMI2.2
also provided with an abutment 44 which is adjustable along two rods 4J fixed to the holder 41 and which comes into contact with the rear end of the drill 30.
The abutment 44 can m the required position on the rods 45 by means of the clamping plate 46 and screw
Wing nut 47 are secured.
From the above it follows that the tool table 31, the sleeve 35 and the
Flange 36, are adjustable together on the bed plate 14 against the grinding wheels 1, 2 and that the tool holder 41 can be adjusted in the same directions on the tool table 31.
Appropriate means can be provided to secure the tool table 31 on the bed plate 14 or the tool holders 41 on the tool tray 31; However, since the oscillating grinding wheels 1, xi cause the tool to move axially to and fro, it is preferable that the tool table 31 is secured to the bed plate 14 and the tool holder 47 remains loosely on the tool table 37, to allow the tool holder 47 to slide freely on the latter;
If necessary, however, instead of the aforementioned arrangement, the
Tool holder 41 are secured to the tool table 31 and the latter be slidable on the bed plate ig.

<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
If the above-described grinding machine is to be used for grinding a left-hand cutting drill, the position of the crank pins 21, 22 on their crank disks 23, 24 is reversed, ie. H. they are set diametrically on the disks 23, 24 on opposite sides of the axes.
In a machine that is used to grind only flat drills or slot pusher or end pusher steels, the bearings can be permanently secured in those angular positions in which the desired relief grinding angle is produced, with the shafts 3, 4 converging, being set parallel or diverging , depending on the angle that is to be given to the cutting edges with respect to the axis of the tool to be welded;
consequently, for an ordinary flat drill, the axes mentioned are in convergence (FIG. 1), for a slot cutter or end cutter, the cutting edges are perpendicular
