Process for the manufacture of phosphorus preparations for medical purposes.

The subject matter of the present invention relates to a process for the production of phosphorus preparations which, as is known, can be used as remedies for rickets. The pastilles produced so far using phosphorus u. The like, however, are taken reluctantly by the sick because of the peculiar, disgusting smell and taste of phosphorus.

This deficiency is eliminated by the subject matter of the present process in that the phosphorus is rubbed in the air until it smokes, whereupon it is dissolved in a known manner by alcohol and this solution is mixed with sugar or the like in a certain proportion becomes. It is possible here to carry out a precise dosage of the phosphorus content and to obtain a mixture which can easily be formed into pastilles. A preparation produced in this way is popular because of its pleasant taste, especially when raspberry juice or similar flavorings are added to the same.

By rubbing the phosphorus while avoiding any precautionary measures practiced so far, low levels of oxidation are formed, whereby the disgusting phosphorus odor disappears and the absorbability is increased.

The method according to the present invention is expediently carried out in such a way that 1 9 phosphorus is rubbed in until it smokes, whereupon 100 g of alcohol are added to the solution. A mixture of 250% lactose and 250%; Add cane sugar and mix evenly. The mass obtained is then dried in the heat, powdered and shaped into lozenges.

In order to give the pastilles a pleasing appearance, a coloring agent is added, which is conveniently rubbed with the sugar. A mixture of alcohol and ether can also be used to dissolve the phosphorus more easily.
