The transmission of the rotation of the cranks to the shaft 22 takes place by means of the chain wheels 23 and 24, which are connected by means of chains to the chain wheels 25 and 26 fixedly seated on the shaft 22.
On the shaft 22 (Fig. 2) sits the coupling sleeve 27 on a sliding wedge, which can be axially displaced by means of a suitable adjusting tool so that it can either be connected to the coupling part 28 loosely seated on the shaft 22 or the coupling part also loosely seated on the shaft 29 or in a central position with neither of the two engaged. The two flywheels 30 and 31 are also seated on the shaft 22.
Before the advance of the setting punch formed by the steel strips is to begin, the shaft 22 can be set in rapid rotation when the coupling sleeve 27 is in the middle position by turning the cranks 20 and 21, so that work capacity is stored in the flywheels 30 and 31 during this idling. If loading is then to be taken care of, the coupling sleeve 27 is brought into engagement with the coupling part 28, so that the latter takes part in the rotation of the shaft 22. A sprocket 32 is rigidly connected to the coupling part 28 and is connected by means of a chain to the sprocket 33 which is seated on the shaft 34 of the gear 11. On the shaft 34 there is also a gear 35, which engages in a gear 36

Brought protected.
When the projectile is placed in the trains, the living force of the flywheels 30 and 31 creates a shock that is limited by the sliding of the friction clutch, so that the projectile is pushed gently.
Now the coupling sleeve 27, while the shaft 22 remains continuously rotated by the cranks, is withdrawn from the coupling part 28 and brought into engagement with the coupling part 29, which is rigidly connected to a gear 39 which is in the Za hnrad. M intervenes. Since the shaft 22 always rotates in the same direction, the shaft 34 of the gear 11, on which the gear 35 engaging the gear 39 is seated, is rotated in the opposite direction as before, and likewise through the engagement of the gear 35 with the gear 36 the shaft 37 of the gear 10.
Since the gears 10 and 11 are rotated in the opposite direction as before, the steel belts are also moved in the opposite direction, i.e. retracted, and this can be done with a suitable selection of the transmission ratio between the gears 39 and 5J at a greater speed than the forward gear, whose speed is given by the transmission ratio between the sprockets 32 and 33.
EMI2.2
If the setting die is to be moved forward again to insert the cartridge, it is sufficient. to move the coupling mechanism 27 again to the other side, so that it comes into engagement with the coupling part 28, and the decline is initiated again in that
EMI2.3
Wave 22 would be reversed.
The creation of the coupling sleeve 27 can be effected either by hand or, if necessary, by means of stops which are attached at a suitable point and which act on the actuating tool.
Any other construction of an extension mast or finally any other construction could of course also be used on the stiffness of the fontana mast shown here
EMI2.4
So the cranks can be replaced by hand cranks and the clutch design can be different. The centrifugal masses do not have to sit straight on the coupling shaft, since it is only essential for them that they are arranged in front of the changeover clutch in the sense of power transmission in order to enable the centrifugal masses to rotate without the drive of the setting die.
