Verfahren zur Darstellung einer dem Kautschuk nahestehenden Substanz.
Es wurde die technisch sehr wichtige Beobachtung gemacht, dass man zu einer dem Kautschuk nahestehenden Substanz gelangt, wenn man Erythren (Divinyl) mit oder ohne Zusatz von die Polymerisation befördernden Mitteln, wie Essigsäure, Essigsäureanhydrid und Natriumäthylat, und zwar zweckmässig in Mengen von 1/2 bis 50/0 erwärmt, wobei die Temperatur innerhalb weiter Grenzen schwanken kann.
Beispiel 1.
500 Teile Erythret) werden in Benzol gelöst und die so erhaltene Lösung im Autoklaven 10 Stunden auf 1500 erhitzt. Durch Durchleiten von Wasserdampf wird hierauf das Benzol sowie etwa entstehende Nebenprodukte abgetrieben. Es hinterbleibt eine elastische, delll natürlichen Kautschuk sehr ähnliche Substanz.
Beispiel 2.
200 Teile Erythren worden durch Abkühlen, z. B. mit Hilfe von Ätherkohlensäure, verdichtet. Die so erhaltene farblose Flüssigkeit wird dann im Autoklaven 4 Tage lang auf ') 0 bis 100 erhitzt. Das nicht polymerisierte Erythren wird abdestilliert und der Rückstand sodann im Vakuum auf dem Wasserbade (zuletzt auf dem siedenden Wasserbade) noch einige Zeit erwärmt. Es destilliert eine der Terpenreihe angehörende Flüssigkeit über, wahrend eine elastische, dem Kautschuk sehr ähnliche Masse hinterbleibt.

Example 2.

The unpolymerized erythrene is distilled off and the residue is then heated in vacuo on the water bath (lastly on the boiling water bath) for some time.
