A stop band in the sense of this document is a pre-compressed foam sealing band which expands under elastic or plastic deformation in the absence of external back pressure.

A very common name for a group of stop tapes is compriband. It typically consists of an impregnated open-cell polyurethane foam and is designed in the manner of a double-sided adhesive tape on two opposite sides of the outer surface with an adhesive surface. The term stop tape stems from the fact that it is used as a sealing tape which, when used as intended, is inserted into a joint in a pre-compressed state, is preferably glued in, and then expands into it until it stops, i.e. ultimately rests on opposite boundary surfaces of the joint and the joint with it seals. Typically, stop tapes are used to seal joints in buildings, for example between a window frame and a wall opening.

Usually, stop tapes are sold in the form of spirally wound rolls, the strip material being compressed and provided on one side with a removable film layer - the so-called layer - which forms an intermediate layer in the roll between the adjacent roll turns. In the usual way of handling, a roll of stop tape is processed in its entirety as soon as possible after opening the enveloping packaging, that is to say introduced as a sealing tape into a joint. The rapid, complete processing is desirable because a part that has just begun can only be stored without damage with disproportionately high effort. As soon as the packaging no longer presses against the outer circumference of the roll, the tape material begins to expand and the roll winds up. Roll layers can improperly stick together and with other parts; loosening the unwanted bonds is time-consuming and often leads to damage to the tape.

For example, FR 2657074 A1 and ÜS 3051223 A each show a device which serves to unwind a roll of adhesive tape and to apply the adhesive tape, which can also have a layer, to a surface to be adhered to it. The adhesive tape roll is rotatably supported on the device on an axis and an elastic spring presses a lever to a location on the outer circumference of the roll. Friction of the lever on the roll prevents the roll from turning loosely and thus unintentionally rolling off the adhesive tape. From the roll of adhesive tape, the longitudinal area of the adhesive tape to be unwound is guided via further rollers to a pressure roller, which rolls along the surface to be adhered to with the adhesive tape, with the adhesive tape being interposed. The object of the invention is to create a container in which a roll of stop tape can be inserted and from which it can also be unwound and in which it can be stored without damage even when used. A flat, box-like construction of the container is assumed to solve the problem. The position of the roller stop band 2 in the container 1 in the plane normal to the roller axis is only defined by how the roller stop band 2 rests with its outer surface on the inside of outer surface sides 4, 5 of the container 1 and on the guided movable part 7. There are no axle bolts, which are part of the container 1 and the roller stop band 2 can be rotatably mounted but otherwise could keep it immovable against translational movement.

Since no axle bolt is provided in the container 1 for rotatable mounting of the roller stop band 2, the roller stop band 2 can be inserted into and removed from the container 1 solely by movement in the direction normal to its axis.
