Contact arrangement for switches and similar devices.

Patent 39771 deals with a contact device in which thin rings or king pieces with inwardly projecting contact lugs are alternately layered with insulating washers to form a coherent, solid hollow body, inside which corresponding movable contact pieces are rotatably arranged on the switch axis.

According to the invention, the fixed contact pieces, which are closed rings according to the parent patent, are given an expedient embodiment in that they are designed as short sector-shaped metal pieces that are embedded between the insulating disks and protrude into the switch room as tongues.

Compared to the parent patent, the part of the ring-shaped contact pieces that does not interact with the movable switch blades is replaced by insulating material so that only the actual current connection pieces protrude into the chamber. If, on top of that, these pieces are offset against one another in layers, the security against the flashover of sparks is considerably greater than in the embodiment according to the parent patent; the switches of the same power can a) be smaller.

In the figures, a denotes the metal flags, the short extensions of which are detected by the movable contact pieces b, which are designed as resilient double tongues, when the current is connected. The Koutaktstücko lie in recesses of the edge of the insulating disk r, which is made particularly wide for the purpose, without further fastening
 EMI1.1

The least amount of material and space is obtained if the outer contact connections are also attached directly to the metal lugs by pulling the metal lugs outwards, as is shown in the figures, and attaching a contact screw d with nut.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Contact arrangement for switches according to Patent 39771, characterized in that the contact outlets consist of metal tongues which are embedded separately from one another in the insulating layers and protrude into the contact space.
