Description

Fig. 3 zeigt einen erfindungsgemässen Roboter 10 umfassend drei Fahrwerksmodule 1.
The invention relates to a chassis module according to the preamble of claim 1.
Chassis modules according to the invention are used to construct mobile robots, in particular industrial robots.
According to the state of the art, a large number of mobile robots are known, whose landing gears are constructed in a great variety of ways.
The essential object of the invention is to create a chassis for a robot in the shortest possible time, with an adaptation of the chassis to the respective requirements of the robot to be built is to make. An essential aspect of the invention is to carry out the mechanical as well as the electrical construction or the mechanical and electrical configuration of the chassis of a mobile robot in the shortest possible time, in addition to the flexibility and variability of the structure of the individual robots in addition a high degree of reusability the individual landing gear modules used for the construction of a robot should be achieved.
Another object of the invention is to achieve as large a variety of chassis configurations as possible with as few as possible a number of independent and as similar components as possible.
Another preferred aspect of the invention is to reconfigure a robot during operation, in particular automatically, that is to change its shape and structure during operation. This can be achieved either by assembling individual robots into a single composite robot during operation, or by sharing a robot during operation. Thus, a typical task of the invention could be to transport a plurality of individual parts on small robots and, after successful assembly of the individual parts, to mechanically and possibly also electrically connect the robots which now transport the individual parts now assembled from the individual parts.
The invention solves this problem in a landing gear module of the type described with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.
Particular embodiments of the inventive chassis module are shown in the claims 2 to 8.
Further, the invention achieves a comparable object in a mobile robot with the features of the characterizing one of claims 9 or 11. Particular embodiments of a mobile robot are specified in claims 10, 12 and 13.
An essential advantage of the landing gear module according to the invention is that the landing gear module can be combined with another landing gear module of the same design and shape in a simple manner and separated again. Due to the special design of the frame of the chassis module is achieved that each landing gear module can be coupled to an identical chassis module by means of the holding or docking elements. Furthermore, a very large range of motion is achieved by the driving element on the underside of the frame.
A chassis module with the features of the characterizing part of claim 2 allows a very flexible construction of a mobile robot with a very small number of chassis modules. Thus, the hexagonal design allows the construction of a three-wheeled robot with three similarly constructed suspension modules.
With the features of the characteristics of claims 3 and 5, the required functionalities of mobile robots can be integrated directly into the landing gear modules.
A landing gear module with the features of the characterizing part of claim 4 enables in a simple manner the joint control of a plurality of coupled together landing gear modules, in particular when separating or adding individual landing gear modules from or to a mobile robot.
With the features of the characterizing part of claim 6, the attachment of standardized modules in the area of the lateral surfaces is made possible.
A particularly advantageous embodiment of the driving element is achieved with the features of the characterizing part of claim 7 or of claim 8.
A mobile robot having the features of the characterizing portion of claim 9 can be easily manufactured and constructed, the shape of which can be adapted to a variety of requirements. Mobile robots according to claim 9 can be connected to other mobile robots according to claim 9 or divided into a number of autonomous robots according to claim 9, provided they have the necessary inherent stability. This allows in particular an automated combination of different robots from a number of similarly constructed suspension modules, this arrangement can be automated and without human intervention can be effected.
Furthermore, for the test operation, for experimental purposes or for rapid prototyping applications, an extremely fast and simple connection of a mobile robot according to the invention with further mobile robots or individual chassis modules according to the invention is easily possible.
A mobile robot according to claim 10 additionally has the advantage that an independent of the mechanical coupling of the landing gear modules electrical coupling thereof must not be made separately and thus the cabling and Verschaltungsaufwand is substantially reduced and further an automatic construction of mobile robots is facilitated. #
With the features of claim 11, a mobile robot is created which has less than three driven chassis modules, wherein its stability by at least one non-driven, rotatably mounted and / or with respect to a normal to the base of the frame axis either rigidly standing or freely pivoting Wheel 5 is guaranteed. This has the significant advantage that cost-effective robot can be achieved with only one inventive chassis module or two inventive suspension modules. In addition, at least one non-driven stability module is used, which only ensures the stability of the mobile robot, but is not driven itself.
With the features of claim 12, the construction of larger robot allows and significantly reduces the number of required to build this robot chassis modules. Particularly in the case of very large robots whose area corresponds to a multiple of the base area of the prism of a single chassis module of the mobile robot, a mobile robot composed exclusively of chassis modules according to the invention would entail high costs. By means of the intermediate elements it is achieved that robots with a larger footprint can be set up cost-effectively.
With a robot having the features of the characterizing part of claim 13, straight borders or a convex outer shape of the entire mobile robot can be achieved.

This chassis module comprises a frame, the outer shape has substantially the shape of a straight prism with a regular hexagonal base. On the underside of the chassis module or the frame is a driven and / or about an axis which is normal to the base surface of the prism, in its driving direction adjustable or pivotable driving element 3 is arranged. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the driving element arranged on the underside is designed as a wheel, which is both driven and about an axis which is normal to the base of the prism or in a plane parallel to the base, pivotable. The wheel is mounted in particular driven at the center of the wheel axle.
The wheel axle is pivoted in a plane parallel to the base surface of the prism and about a normal to the base of the prism pivot axis, wherein the pivot axis intersects the prism at the center of gravity of its base. The pivot point is here in the middle of the wheel axle and on the pivot axis.
On the illustrated lateral surfaces of the prism spanned by the frame holding elements and / or docking elements 7 are arranged. In principle, it is possible not to provide holding and / or docking elements 7 on all given lateral surfaces of the prism 2 formed by the frame, whereby the number of possible combinations of the chassis modules is limited. For certain embodiments and for cost reasons, however, embodiments may also be advantageous which have holding and / or docking elements 7 only on individual lateral surfaces.
The holding and / or docking elements 7 offer the possibility of connecting a chassis module 1 with other landing gear modules 1. In particular, these holding elements 7 can enable a releasable connection, which can be done either by manual operation or by electrical actuation. Manual actuation of the detachable holding and / or docking elements 7 enables the rapid and simple assembly of prototypes, while the electrically activated connection and detachment of the holding elements 7 enables the automated reconfiguration of a robot chassis comprising a plurality of chassis modules 1. In planar and conclusive juxtaposition of two landing gear modules 1, the holding elements or docking elements 7 engage with each other. Furthermore, it is not necessary that all holding and / or docking elements 7 are formed identically.
Rather, it is possible to provide types of pairwise associated docking elements and these, as shown in Fig. 1, to be arranged alternately on each adjacent lateral surfaces of the frame 2 forming the prism. This does not or only slightly reduces the number of possible combinations or configurations of mobile robots that can be formed by the individual landing gear modules 1 and allows a simpler locking mechanism.
The arrangement of the holding elements 7 and the docking elements 7 is advantageously carried out symmetrically with respect to a dividing line of the lateral surface of the prism, said dividing line is parallel to the side edges of the prism and wherein the dividing line divides the respective lateral surface in half. The holding elements or docking elements are each arranged at the same height.
In the context of this invention, it is not necessary that the entire frame of the chassis module 2 has an outer shape corresponding to a straight prism. It is only necessary in the context of the present invention that the frame 2 spans over a part of its height a straight prism with a regular polygonal base. If, for example, one forms the convex hull of a part of the frame, then it is quite sufficient that the convex hull over a part of the height has the shape of an equilateral straight prism. The convex hull operation determines, for a number of points, in its case, the points of the frame, a convex space encompassing all of these points.
In the area of the lateral surfaces of the straight prism spanned by the frame 2, electrical interfaces 9 for power supply and / or data exchange are arranged according to a preferred embodiment of the invention. This allows the electrical communication between the individual landing gear modules 1, which is required for the operation of a mobile robot 10 with a plurality of interconnected landing gear modules. Furthermore, a common voltage supply of all interlinked landing gear modules 1 is achieved by the electrical interfaces. The data transmission takes place, in particular, by means of a common data bus, which is created by the connection of the individual chassis modules via their electrical interfaces for the mobile robot comprising the individual chassis modules.
Thus, it is basically ensured that all interconnected chassis modules 1 are connected to each other via a common bus line and thus are able to decentralized exchange among themselves messages in the form of electrical signals. This relates in particular to the control of the driving elements 3 of the individual chassis modules 1, preferably their propulsion and their pivoting relative to the individual chassis modules, the transfer of data recorded by sensors 6 and the transmission of jointly and / or decentralized processed and managed data.
In the area of the lateral surfaces of the straight prism further controls such as displays, LEDs buttons and switches can be arranged, can be given over the commands of a human user to the mobile robot. The buttons and switches are used to supply a located in the running element 3 control circuit with control commands and thus a changed performance of the
Chassis module 1 or when coupling a plurality of chassis modules 1 on a common data bus to effect control of all the driving elements of the entire mobile robot 10. Furthermore, LEDs or display units can be used to represent the operating state of the chassis module 1 and possibly the entire mobile robot 10.
A particular embodiment of the invention makes it possible to achieve a modular and flexible construction of the individual chassis modules 1. Here, as shown schematically in Fig. 8, provided that in the region of the lateral surfaces of the straight prism holders 12 are provided with which holding elements 7, sensors, electrical interfaces and / or components are held or connected, in the form of modules 11 are formed. The brackets 12 are advantageously designed as profile parts, which carry the modules 11. The modules 11 are advantageously formed as sheet metal parts which form the outer shape of the prism.
The sheet metal parts of the modules 11 are in particular in the form of rectangular plates, in whose, preferably central, area the respective holding elements 7, sensors, electrical interfaces and / or controls are located. These modules 11 are connected to the brackets 12 and optionally connected to the control circuit of the landing gear module 1. In this way, it is possible to easily and quickly replace components of a robot and reconfigure robots quickly.
In the lower region of the chassis element 1, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, a driving element 3 is provided, which is designed in the form of a pivotable wheel. Also, Fig. 10, such a driving element 3 can be removed. Characteristic of this driving element 3 is that it comprises a driven and pivotally mounted wheel. In a mobile robot with multiple landing gear modules 1, the driving elements 3 are arranged the same with respect to the landing gear modules 1.
The drive or the pivoting of the wheel is made possible by two motors, wherein a first motor drives the driving element 3 and a second motor pivots the driving element 3 about an axis perpendicular to the base surface of the prism. Both motors are connected to a common control device, which is located inside the chassis element 1, which controls the two motors. An inventive driving element has a relative to the frame of the driving element 1 with respect to a rotation axis pivotable suspension. This pivot axis is normal to the base of the spanned by the frame of the chassis module 1 prism. The axis of rotation of the driving element 3, namely a wheel, is parallel to the base of this prism. The second motor pivots the suspension relative to the frame 2 of the chassis module. 1
On the one hand, there is the possibility that the first motor is arranged directly on the wheel suspension and transmits its torque to the wheel. On the other hand, there is also the possibility that the first motor is firmly connected to the chassis module 1 or its frame and a transmission of the torque of the motor to the wheel via a transmission.
The invention further relates to the assembly of a plurality of at least two, preferably at least three landing gear modules 1, which are connected to one another by means of holding elements and / or docking elements 7 arranged on their side surfaces, in particular directly, areally and rigidly. Possible configurations and embodiments of a mobile robot 10 according to the invention are shown schematically in FIGS. 3 and 4. 3 shows a robot 10 according to the invention comprising three landing gear modules 1. These landing gear modules 1 are connected to one another flatly, directly and rigidly by means of the holding elements 7 arranged on their side surfaces.
By the support points of the wheels of the chassis elements 1 of the mobile robot 10, an equilateral triangle is spanned, which provides optimal stability and Kippfestigkeit in a configuration with three driving elements 3. As already mentioned, it is particularly advantageous that the individual electrical interfaces of the mechanically coupled suspension module 1 connected to one another are electrically connected to one another. This enables a simple data connection and distribution of the required supply voltage over the entire mobile robot 10.
FIG. 2 shows a mobile robot 10, which is characterized by a chassis module 1 and a stability module 4. The stability module 4 comprises a frame which spans at least over part of its height a straight prism having a regular polygonal base, in particular by its convex hull, the frame of the stability module 4 corresponding to the frame of the chassis module 1. The stability module 4 in this case comprises on the underside of its frame 2, two non-driven and with respect to a normal to the base surface of the frame 2 stationary axis standing or not pivotable wheels fifth
According to the invention, however, it is also possible that only one, with respect to a normal to the base surface of the frame 2 stationary axis standing rigidly or pivotally designed, wheel 5 is provided on the underside of the frame of the stability module 4. For such a robot configuration with a chassis module 1 and a stability module 4 with only one wheel 5 additional stabilizing measures are required because only two support points of the wheels are available. Robot configurations with a chassis module 1 and at least two stability modules 4 each with a wheel 5 realize a tilt-stable robot.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in Fig. 2, the support points of the wheels are arranged in the shape of an isosceles triangle, which is less advantageous in terms of stability than in the embodiment of the invention shown in Fig. 3. However, an embodiment according to FIG. 2 is more cost-effective to manufacture and enables the construction of a mobile robot with only one landing gear module 1 and a stability module 4 that is much cheaper to produce. The stability module 4 is designed such that on at least one of the lateral surfaces of the frame 2 of the stability element 4, a holding element or docking element 7 is provided for connection to the chassis module 1. This holding element or docking element 7 is preferably identical to the holding elements or docking elements 7 arranged on the chassis module 1.
The chassis module 1 and the stability element 4 are rigidly, extensively, detachably and directly connected to one another by means of holding elements or docking elements 7 arranged on their lateral surfaces.
A particular embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the stability module 4 has at least one electrical interface and the electrical interfaces 9 of the chassis module 1 are connected to the electrical interface of the stability module 4.
Another embodiment of a mobile robot is shown in FIG. Such a mobile robot comprises not only a number of at least two, advantageously at least three chassis modules 1, a number of unpowered intermediate elements 8 without driving elements 3, which are arranged between the individual chassis modules 1. The frame of these intermediate elements 8 has similar geometric properties as the frame 2 of a stability element 4 or a landing gear module 1. Such a frame of an intermediate element 8 spans over a part of its height the same geometric shape as the frame 2 of the landing gear modules 1 or the frame of the Stability modules 4.
The intermediate elements 8 have on their lateral surfaces on holding elements and / or docking elements 7 and are connected by means of this with the landing gear modules 1 and optionally with stability modules 4. The intermediate elements 8 may optionally have electrical interfaces, these being electrically connected to the electrical interfaces of the chassis modules 1 and the stability elements 4. By means of these intermediate elements 8, much larger mobile robots 10 can be realized. A connection of the chassis modules 1 with the intermediate elements 8 by means of the connecting elements 7 also allows a division of a robot 10 into a plurality of robots 10 having a smaller number of chassis modules 1 and intermediate elements 8.
Thus, for example, the robot 10 shown in FIG. 4 can be divided into two robots each having four landing gear modules 1, depending on the type of division with four or five intermediate elements 8. Intermediate elements 8 in an arrangement never reach the ground and are kept at a distance from the ground by the adjacent landing gear modules. It is particularly advantageous that between the individual chassis modules 1 and the stability elements 4 further intermediate elements 8 are arranged, said intermediate elements 8 have a frame which spans the same geometric shape of a prism as the frame 2 of the landing gear modules. However, it is provided that not the spanned by the intermediate elements 8 and the landing gear modules 1 prism have identical shape, but only have identical footprints.
Thus, an intermediate element 8 can be constructed in such a way, wherein the base of a prism spanned by the frame of the intermediate element 8 coincides with the base of the prism spanned by a chassis module 1 or a stability element 4.
Such an embodiment is shown in FIG. The height of the landing gear modules 1 is not equal to the height of the intermediate elements. 8
As regards the arrangement, dimension or design of the frame, the prism spanned by the frame, the holding elements 7, the electrical interfaces 9, the operating elements, the sensor elements, the displays and LEDs, the same requirements and restrictions apply to the intermediate elements 8 and the stability elements 4 as for chassis modules 1.
It is also possible for the base area of a prism spanned by the frame of an intermediate element 8 'to correspond to a part contained by symmetrical division, preferably half the base area of the prism spanned by the frame of the chassis modules 1 or the stability elements 4. 7 shows a mobile robot with four chassis modules 1, an intermediate element 8 and two intermediate elements 8 ', the base area of which corresponds to the symmetrical halved base area of the chassis modules 1. Such an embodiment is particularly advantageous if the mobile robot is to be flat or straight bordered along its side surfaces. The intermediate elements 8 'also increase the mechanical strength of the overall structure.
