The additional devices can be used for a. Any number of telephone subscribers to be switched into the line can be produced, and additional devices which can be used for six or fewer subscribers are described below.
The additional box (Fig. 1 to 3) is a wooden box in which the control relay, the control device, the switch-on device with the push button contact and two capacitors are attached.
The control relay a is a direct current relay with a resistance of 30 Ohm. The anchor of the same b consists of an iron cylinder and is attached to an anchor lever made of brass c, which is fixed in a brass stand d with limited mobility. At the end of the shorter arm of the armature lever, a spiral spring e is attached, which keeps the armature away from the relay. At the other end of the armature lever, the adjusting lever f is attached like a hinge, the latter ending in a nose which engages in the incisions of a small adjusting wheel g. The adjusting lever is held pressed against the adjusting wheel by a steel spring h. The adjusting wheel g has eight teeth and is attached to the adjusting axis i in such a way that the latter must follow all the movements of the adjusting wheel.
The adjusting axis has a vertical position, the adjusting lever, relay lever and the adjusting

Rod itself is attached, held down on the push button. If the push button is pressed, the nose of the switch rod comes to stand in front of the nose of the spring p, and if the adjusting wheel is then further turned by one tooth, the steel pin o slides off the spring p, it snaps forward and comes with the nose to lie on the switch-on rod r.
If the push button is left out, the switch-on rod snaps back, but its nose remains in the nose of the spring p until the steel pin o comes back under contact 0 after turning the adjusting wheel and pushes the spring p back.
On the lower wall of the box is a contact spring a; and a fixed contact y screwed on.
By pressing the push button, the contact spring x is pressed against the contact y.
There are also two small capacitors of 2 Mf. (C-C) in the box. Clamps C1, C2, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, R and D are attached to the outside of the box.
The following conductive connections are made inside the box. Lower axle bearing j with terminal K, spring p with terminal K, a capacitor on the one hand with terminal K and on the other hand with terminal R, the second capacitor with terminals C and C2, relay windings on the one hand with terminal K and on the other with the terminal R,

The control panel (Fig. 4 to 8), which is screwed to the front of the central switch (in front of the tippers) by means of a band iron, consists of a board approximately 20 cm wide and a length corresponding to the width of the central switch, on which one of the toggle switches A corresponding number of adjusting disks and a control disk are mounted (Fig. 8).
The Stpllscl1Pibe (Fig, 4 and 5) is an ebonite disc with a protruding edge, which

comes and the pin o slides off the spring p and releases the same.
As soon as the switching lever in the control center slides over the contactless point on the control disc, the current is interrupted, the control relays release their armature, the control levers snap back and their noses jump into the next tooth of the adjusting wheel.
So when the shift lever on the adjusting disk in the headquarters in the incision. 3 was rotated, four current pulses were sent into the line, which put the contact springs m in all stations on contact 3. The apparatus set is connected to this contact in station no. If the control center calls in the normal way by means of a magnetic inductor, the alarm clock of subscriber no. 3 will respond. In order to prevent the inductor current from acting effectively on the control relay a when calling, the capacitors C are switched on in parallel to the latter, which conduct most of the ringing current and thus prevent the control relay from responding.
The conversation develops in a normal way. After the end of the same (or after it has subsided and the firing flap has fallen), if the call plug is left in the latch and the toggle button is called, the switch lever is turned to the notch 0 (in the clockwise direction), after which the plug is off the latch is to be removed.
If the subscriber wants to call, he has to press the push button q on the shading box and at the same time ring the inductor, if the contact spring m is on the contact #,

The inductor ds switched on at station VI will have sufficiently high self-induction, the last-noted current component will be small in relation to the effective current going through the control center. After the drop flap has fallen in the control center, the speech plug of a free pair of plugs belonging to the voter system must be inserted into the handle, the call flap set up and the subscriber asked in the normal way. If he wishes to speak to a subscriber on another line (a simple line or dialer line), the connection can be established normally or in the manner described above. If he wishes to speak to a subscriber on his own line, the headset must first remove the speaking plug in the handle. then to bring the associated switch lever on the adjusting disk to position I, furthermore to insert the call plug into the latch and the switch lever

If a subscriber calls while the line is busy, his contact spring is not on contact 0, so his set will not be switched on by pressing the button and his own alarm clock will not ring. This fact shows him that the line is not free.
