The invention relates to a device for protecting applied to a disc of a motor vehicle windshield wipers with a distance above the swung-down in a rest position wiper apron for the windshield wiper, which preferably extends into the region of a subsequent to the lower edge of the wheel rim body part.
For the protection of windshield wipers of a motor vehicle, it is known to pull a tubular casing over the wiper arm and the wiper blades in order to prevent in particular a freezing of the wiper blades on the disk.
In addition, it is known in commercial vehicles (DE 39 26 543 C2) to provide both the windscreen wiper arms and on their axes covers that embrace the windscreen wiper arms and axles over a large area, so that an impact protection is obtained, which reduces the risk of injury in case of accidents , In addition, a windshield cover is known (DE 1 680 037 A1), on which an apron is provided for covering the windshield wiper, which extends into the region of a subsequent to the lower edge of the wheel rim body part.
The disadvantage is that this windshield cover must be attached with straps that are placed with the door open to the windscreen limiting spars, which not only brings a cumbersome handling with it, but also can not prevent the windshield wiper from snow and ice loads which penetrate between the cover and the windshield, especially in vehicles parked outdoors for an extended period of time, when the adhesion between the snow and ice accumulation on the one hand and the bodywork parts or the disc on the other hand is reduced by thawing of the snow and ice masses.
In such cases, significant amounts of snow and ice accumulation may be applied to the wiper arms with the effect that the wiper arms themselves are bent or their bearings damaged.
The invention is therefore based on the object, a device for protecting voltage applied to a window of a motor vehicle windshield wipers of the kind so that with simple design means the risk of damage to windshield wipers can be excluded by snow and ice loads, which counted in motor vehicles must be parked in the cold season in the open air for long periods of time.
The invention solves this problem by
that the skirt is attached to the disc and has a voltage applied to the disc edge seal.
Since, according to this measure, the cover forms an apron which can be fastened to the window of the motor vehicle itself, the snow and ice masses are deflected from the skirt over the covered windscreen wipers onto the body parts which adjoin the windscreen, so that the resulting weight load on the windscreen wiper arms remains limited, especially since the tensile load of the apron can be removed by snow and ice masses at least to a considerable extent on the attachment of the skirt on the disc itself.
The apron thus not only forms a sliding surface for the snow and ice masses bridging the windshield wiper, but also protects the wiper blades from an immediate snow or ice attack, so that advantageous protection conditions result. The handling is easy, because only the apron to put over the windshield wiper and connect to the disc of the motor vehicle. The connection may be different, since it only depends on a sufficient adhesion of the skirt on the disc above the swung into the rest position wipers.
Particularly simple connection conditions arise, however, when the apron is attached by means of suction cups on the disc, because in this case, the apron can be solved in a simple manner from the disc again, without having to fear adhesion residues on the disc, as in adhesive joints may occur.
