Abstract

The solarium has radiating/tanning ultraviolet LEDs (2) which are weaved with electrical conductors in a textile cloth, where the solarium is designed in the form of a blanket. A control device controls the charging of the battery.

The invention consists in using ultraviolet LEDs (ultraviolet light emitting diodes) in combination with a textile material (be it a cover for a blanket or the like) for tanning the human skin.

The following devices are known as known:

British Patent Application GB 2 396 252 A 16,6,2004 (STEVEN LEFTLY) shows a fabric containing LEDs, for example SMD LEDs. These are woven with the yarn and form a matrix. The fabric is flexible and washable. It is expressly mentioned that the fabric is suitable for clothing.

The German patent application DE 101 24 457 A1 (SIEMENS) 5.12.2002 shows fibers with integrated electronic components that can be processed into a fabric. The fabrics are e.g. be used as clothing, textiles, but also for furniture or as covers. The use in medicine (sensors for temperature, heartbeat, etc.) is explicitly mentioned.

In the international publication WO 0210809 Al SONY) 7.2.2002 tissues with woven LEDs are mentioned.

US Pat. No. 6,602,275 B (SULLIVAN) 8/5/2003 shows a diode array or diode array device for treating living organisms. However, no UV diodes are mentioned. Irradiation is, however, adjustable according to different programs.

US Pat. No. 6,596,016 Bl (VREMAN) 22.7.2003 shows a device for phototherapy of newborns. In children's clothes and blankets, there are LED's that illuminate the child's skin. As a result, the radiation is made for healing purposes, but not for browning. The wavelength of the LEDs used differs significantly.

ι in Ι · i I i! US Pat. No. 6,045,575 A April 4, 2000, (ROSEN) shows a photodynamic radiation suit. US Pat Newborn, with semiconductor elements incorporated in the fabric of the suit. Again, the radiation is made for healing purposes.

In contrast to these known, here UV-LEDs are used for browning. The advantage is that: low power consumption, low voltage (about 3.7 volts), long life, very low heat dissipation, stable UV range (350-450 nm possible), the bandwidth is according to the current state of the art at 30 nm , wherein by using the respective UV-LEDs (wavelength), an individual adjustment to the needs can be made.

Further advantages of using UV LEDs for browning is that only the desired UV-A range is released and thus no filters are necessary, which is why the damage to the skin remains extremely low, and can be adapted to the individual skin type.

Uncomplicated use, because no additional devices e.g. Stands, extra loungers, fans for cooling and the like are necessary. Just go to sleep cover up with the tanning blanket, set timer, and turn brown overnight.

Furthermore, a mains power connection is not necessary because of the very low power consumption, because the operation of the UV LEDs is ensured by the battery longer operating time. The operating time depends of course on the battery power.

In contrast to other sunbeds, such as ordinary sunbeds or wall-mounted spotlights using UV fluorescent tubes or UV quartz lamps, the big advantage of the tanning ceiling is that they are independent of the mains supply. even only use it separately (safety). The space for the sunbed or spotlights, or opening hours and appointments (tanning) is unnecessary.
