Description

Thrust bearing for steam or gas turbines, centrifugal pumps and similar machines, which is combined with a support bearing that is independent of the housing.

The invention relates to a combined support and thrust bearing, in particular for steam turbines, which is supported on the base plate independently of the turbine housing.

In such cases, the thrust bearing does not take part in the axial shifts of the housing caused by the internal pressures and heating, and there is a great risk that the housing shifts so much against the axially fixed shaft that the wheels wedged on the shaft to Strips come to fixed parts, whereby pine can cause great damage, even loss of the entire machine. First and foremost, the guide vanes upstream of the impeller and the intermediate floors would rub against each other. According to this invention, this disadvantage is avoided in that the thrust bearing is made axially displaceable against the support bearing and is firmly connected to the housing.

Exemplary embodiments are shown in the drawing.

In Fig. 1, a is the front cover of the steam turbine housing, b, c is the front support bearing resting on the base plate d. The thrust bearing e is rigidly connected to the housing base a by rods f and can move axially with respect to the support bearing c. In this way it follows all the axial movements of the floor a.

If the housing base a now moves axially against the support bearing c due to internal overpressure and great heating, it pushes the thrust bearing e in front of it by means of the rods y, which in turn drives the shaft g and thereby also the wheels t. In this way, the distance between the housing bottom a, respectively. Nozzle ring i on the one hand and impeller h on the other hand completely or almost identically. While in Fig. 1 the thrust bearing e is arranged outside of the support bearing c, according to Fig. 2 the thrust bearing e is provided between the support bearing c and the housing base a and connected by ribs k and flange 1 with Irtzterem.

Depending on whether you want to transfer only the axial expansion of the housing shell or that of the housing bottom to the thrust bearing, 111an connects the thrust bearing more to the shell or to the middle part of the bottom.

The arrangement can be used as on steam turbines, on centrifugal capsule pumps and similar machines.
