The process for the continuous production of acetone proceeds as follows: The retort 1 is heated using any solid, liquid or gaseous fuel and then the acetic acid lime is introduced through the open part 2 of the retort in the amount that the lid 5 the uppermost chamber 4 is completely covered with the material.
To the same extent as the residue of the goods is removed through the tube 3 in the retort chamber below, the contents of the retort sinks downwards and fresh acetic acid lime is likewise brought up in the corresponding mass. The released acetone vapors occur, since they find no other way to escape, BEZW through the spaces between the chambers. through the tubes 7 into the cavity and are discharged from here through the tube 8 into the cooling space. Because (3 the vapors do not come into contact with the hot retort walls, neither polymerization nor decomposition can occur, which is why the yield of acetone is extremely favorable.
The process can be carried out under ordinary or reduced pressure.
In addition, a steam-acetone mixture can be generated by blowing steam (superheated steam) into the retort.
PATENT. EXPECTATIONS :
1. A method for the preparation of acetone by heating lime acetic acid, characterized in that the lime acetic acid is in a completely or approximately vertical standing,
EMI2.1
Knt would allow it to slide downwards and thereby collect the developing gas in a space created inside the retort and communicating with it.
