Description

Chimney high water reservoir made of radial stones.

To run a chimney high water reservoir you previously required a frame and a casing to the container, as it was customary, from cement BEZW.

Making concrete. In addition, the high reservoirs made of cement have the disadvantage that they rarely or never have to be kept completely sealed. You need a coat of paint on the inside, which has to be renewed and the inner iron reinforcement will still rust. so that the water is contaminated and even unusable for certain purposes. The purpose of the construction described below and illustrated in the drawing is to eliminate these inconveniences. The chimney reservoirs, which are also known and are made of sheet iron, require, on the other hand, a particularly strong anchorage for their stability, which also rusts in the water and whose paint is therefore often renewed

Seam its masonry with an insert made of iron strips to absorb the tensile loads.

The reservoir is now produced in such a way that the reinforcing latticework is first erected on a support structure attached to the chimney. As the drawing shows, this latticework consists of horizontally lying tires a, which are connected by means of vertically arranged rods or straps b, in such a way that, depending on the higher water pressure, the distance between the tires decreases or the tires become stronger. Around the latticework, the radial stones are now placed in the manner shown in FIG. 3, specifically in such a way that before

corresponding number of whole stones can be arranged.

The joints that u be or both sides of a rod. above and below a tire a are of course filled with cement.

A chimney high water reservoir designed in the manner indicated does not need any formwork or scaffolding for its implementation, since it is bricked up from the inside. It does not require painting, the water remains pure, the durability is greater, and finally the production costs are lower than before.
