over a correspondingly shaped mandrel and pulls it together by means of the thread 4, so that it is closed at this end (FIG. 6). Finally the ends of the thread 4 are knotted together, completing the dome.
A band 5 according to FIG. 8 of the drawing is used to manufacture the head on glow tubes for light burning upwards. This tape, which can also be designed as a binding tape (see the drawing) or simply worked, also contains a lengthwise pulling thread 6, which is arranged in the middle in the example and consists of asbestos or other non-combustible material. This thread 6 is always exposed alternately on one and the other side of the band 5, namely on a length corresponding to the fold to be formed. Instead of the one thread, two or more threads running in the same direction can of course also be arranged directly next to one another or also at a small distance.
In doing so, these threads. be incorporated into the band at the same time as the band is manufactured, or it can be attached to the band later in another suitable manner.
The end of the hose section 2 to be shaped into a head is now bordered with such a band 5, as is illustrated in FIG. 9. Then, by pulling the two ends of the pulling thread 6 located in this piece of tape, this hose end is pulled together, the hose being pleated automatically to form the head

order of the pulling threads in the band is selected accordingly. The ends of the thread are then knotted and then the carrying handle 7 is formed from them in the manner described above.
The finished incandescent bodies are obtained from the tube pieces that have been prepared so far by the completion work which is known per se and does not form part of the invention. 7 and 12 each show a finished mantle for hanging light respectively. for light burning upwards.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for producing incandescent mantles, characterized in that the tube pieces intended for the formation of the stockings are attached to the dome or. Head formation to be drawn together or to be pleated with a band or sewn with a band, which is equipped with one or more pull threads, and that then with the help of these threads the hose end is pulled together and placed in the necessary folds.
