  Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum Zusammenfalzen von Deckeln oder Böden mit dem Dosenrumpf. 



   Beim Zusammenfalzen von Deckeln oder Böden mit dem Dosenrumpfe bewirkt man das Umbiegen der Falzränder aus der Form nach Fig. 1 in die nach Fig. 2 vielfach mit Hilfe eines Stempels und eines Widerlagers, das beim Stempeldrucke die Bildung von Falten und Undichtigkeiten verhütet, indem durch das Widerlager und den Stempel die Blechschichten des Falzes fest zusammengedrückt werden. Dieses Verfahren ist umständlich, weil das Werkstück zwischen die das ringförmige Widerlager bildenden Teile gebracht werden muss und deren festes Andrücken an die Dose erforderlich wird. Das den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildende Verfahren beruht auf der Erkenntnis, dass der Stempel ohne Widerlager wirken kann, wenn die Falzränder nach Fig. 1 vorher so fest zusammengedrückt werden, dass beim Umlegen durch den Stempel ein Lösen des Falzes nicht eintritt.

   Dieses Zusammendrücken lässt sich mit den üblichen Falzrollen, seien es die bekannten starren Rollen, oder seien es auch die ebenfalls bekannten nachgiebigen, bei denen der eine Falz- oder Bördelrand einer durch eine mittlere Schrauben- (Zug-oder Druck-) feder gegen den Rollenkörper gedrückten Scheibe angehört, nicht erreichen, da diese Rollen, besonders die der letzteren Art, nicht den erforderlichen achsialen Druck auf den zu falzenden Rand zu äussern vermögen. Wohl aber eignet sich hiefür die in Fig. 3 dargestellte Falzrolle a, bei der die den Falzrand al tragenden Scheibe a2 durch eine elastische Zwischenscheibe b gegen den Rollenkörper a gepresst wird, gegen die sich wiederum eine diese Scheibe b ganz oder annähernd ganz bedeckende, durch eine Schraubenmutter c anziehbar Scheibe d legt.

   Die elastische Scheibe b bewirkt, dass die Falzscheibe   a2   am Umfange, also an der Falzstelle selbst, mit starkem, elastischem Druck gegen den zu bildenden Falz gepresst wird, wodurch dieser dicht und dauerhaft geschlossen wird. Es kann nun das nachfolgende Umbiegeu in die Lage nach Fig. 2 durch einen den ganzen Dosenumfang von oben umfassenden Ringstempel mit kegelförmigem Druckrande ohne Widerlager erfolgen.

1. Verfahren zum Zusammenfalzen von Deckeln oder Böden mit dem Dosenrumpf, dadurch gekennzeichnet. dass die in der ersten Falzstufe zusammengelegten   Falzränder   fest zusammengedrückt werden und deren Umbiegung für die zweite Falzstufe durch einen den Dosenumfang umfassenden Stempel ohne Widerlager bewirkt wird.
