<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to a turbine for use within pressurized fluid lines, in particular within water lines or water-carrying lines, with an impeller rotatably mounted within a housing, the output shaft of which is arranged transversely to the direction of flow of the drive fluid, and with a guide device for tangential supply of the Fluids to the impeller.
A turbine of this type is known from DE 39 11 125 A1. This turbine has a flange on its inlet and outlet, which is used to connect to water pipes in which water under pressure flows. The impeller, which is mounted eccentrically in the housing, is equipped with movably mounted rectangular blades for flow-related reasons, which adjust transversely to the direction of flow in the flow area of the water, and which contact the rotor of the impeller and the housing in the suction area. The friction occurring in the suction area is to be reduced by additional injection nozzles arranged in the housing.
An auxiliary channel is also provided in the housing for setting up the wings at the beginning of the flow area. If this turbine, which is relatively complex in construction, is used for a longer period of time, limescale deposits on the bearing points of the blades, in the injection nozzles and in the auxiliary duct can lead to a reduction in the performance of the turbine and consequently to blocking ef'C "1'jqel and thus to a standstill of the turbine and clog the water pipe.
The turbine in FP "5 or the adjacent turbine is obviously an arrangement of lower water wheels, other blades having a cylindrical or spherical outline. These water wheels are arranged side by side and one behind the other and laterally with their shafts in a frame stored, which is arranged above a water flow, e.g. a stream.
FR 2 543 225 A 1 shows a turbine, which is mounted vertically in a frame and also has a spherical body, which has blade-like notches which spiral in a spiral from the bottom to the top. This is intended to ensure that a flow, no matter from which direction, H. hitting the body horizontally, vertically or obliquely, to set the body in rotation.
The two aforementioned turbines have no housing and also differ from the object of the invention in functional terms.
The object of the present invention is to create a turbine of the type mentioned at the outset, which can be installed directly in an existing pipe or pipe system carrying running water, and in which there are no malfunctions or failures even after prolonged operation.
To achieve this object, it is provided according to the invention that the housing is an insert which has an outer spherical cross section which is at least partially adapted to the fluid line and the impeller has vanes adapted to the inner cross section of the insert, a guide orifice being arranged in the flow direction in front of the impeller, which partially covers the impeller and is provided with a passage opening for driving the impeller. With this training, the above-mentioned objective can be met well.
According to a preferred embodiment of the turbine, it is provided that the insert in the flow direction consists of at least two sections, the first section having a cross-section that decreases in the flow direction and the second section adjoining this first section and having a constant cross-section that the impeller is within of the second section is mounted and has wings adapted to the cross section of the second section, and that the guide diaphragm on

and the area of the baffle is thereby more accessible, so that any foreign bodies carried by the fluid can be removed more easily.
A particularly advantageous and structurally simple construction of the turbine is that the insert in the area of the impeller has a circular cross section and the impeller accordingly has semicircular blades. This results in favorable fluidic conditions, and installation in pipes with a circular cross-section can be carried out without any problems.
The guide screen expediently covers at least half of the impeller. This measure also leads to an advantageous increase in the flow speed and, at the same time, to optimal coverage of the impeller in the suction area.
It has also proven to be advantageous if the impeller is surrounded on the suction side by a spherical shell. This prevents the fluid from penetrating into the suction area of the turbine in the event of a backflow of the fluid.
In order to avoid overloading the turbine, it is provided that the first section of the insert has a longitudinal recess on the upper edge, which, when used inside, is pressurized
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fluid lines, in particular within water lines or water-carrying lines, form an overflow for the fluid used. This design allows the fluid to flow off to the side of the insert even when the impeller is blocked.
In a turbine arrangement according to the invention, it is provided that a plurality of turbines arranged in series within pressurized fluid lines, in particular within water lines or water-carrying lines, are connected on the output side in a manner known per se to one or more dynamos. This serial arrangement of turbines in modular design makes it possible to increase the achievable electrical power in a simple manner as desired.
The invention is described below using a preferred embodiment with the aid of the drawing

schematic sectional view of the turbine in side view, and Fig. 3 is a schematic sectional view of the turbine in a semi-perspective view.
In Figs. 1 and 2, 1 generally designates a fluid line or a pipe, e.g. B. a drain pipe of a gutter, in which a turbine 2 is arranged. In the interior of the tube 1, a tubular insert 3 is installed, which consists of a first conical section 4 and a second cylindrical section 5 connected to it. The conical section 4 widens in the direction of the inflowing water and rests with its upper edge 6 on the inner wall 7 of the tube 1. The edge 6 of the conical section 4 can be connected to the tube 1 by means of screws, rents or by welding, soldering or gluing.
In the cylindrical section 5, an impeller 8 is arranged, the vanes 9 of which are semicircular and fastened on an output shaft 10, which is optionally rotatably mounted in the cylindrical section 5 and / or in the tube 1. A bearing for the output shaft 10 fastened to the inner wall 7 is designated by 10a. At the free shaft end of the output shaft 10, which protrudes from the tube 1, a gear 11 is attached, which meshes with a gear of a transmission, which in turn is coupled to an electrical generator or dynamo (not shown).
Above the impeller 8 in the transition area between the cylindrical section 5 and the conical section 4 is a partially, preferably half, covering the impeller 8 with a longitudinal recess or opening 13 through which the water flowing in from above the pipe 1 m is attached is guided tangentially to the vanes 9 in the flow area of the water at the impeller 8 in order to set it in rotation. Connected to the guide diaphragm 12 is a spherical shell 14 surrounding the impeller 8, which prevents water from penetrating into the impeller 8 in the suction region thereof.
In the area of the upper edge 6 of the conical section 4, an overflow opening 15 is provided, which serves for the lateral drainage of excess water so as not to overload the turbine. 3 shows the conical section 4 'of a turbine 2' additionally installed in the pipe 1, i. H. Any number of turbines 2 or 2 ′ can be arranged one above the other in the tube 1. For example, sources in mountain regions can be contained in a pipe which is equipped with turbines with a coupled generator or dynamo, so that electrical energy is made available in a simple manner.
The turbine can optionally also be used as a flow meter by coupling the output shaft 10 to a mechanical counter.
