AT 401 730 B The invention relates to a urethral catheter with a catheter tube having inflow openings at one end and a tube connector at the other end and a treatment probe inserted into the catheter tube, the treatment probe having an electrode arranged in the end region of the catheter tube on the inflow side and an electrode through a sealed through opening in the end region of the tube Includes electrical connection line laid through the catheter tube. Various muscles are responsible for incontinence in the human body, which due to various causes such as pregnancy, old age, surgical interventions, injuries and the like. Like., Are affected in their function in whole or in part. In order to reactivate this muscle, in addition to medical treatment, electrical stimulation is also carried out in medicine, in which the affected muscle parts are stimulated to reactivate by low-frequency currents. To carry out such electrostimulations, there are catheters with integrated treatment probes, so that the electrodes of these probes can be introduced into the bladder lumen with the aid of the catheters, for example, and then stimulation can take place through the urinary bladder, with a second electrode being applied to the outside of the patient and the circuit via the Body is closed. The known urethral catheters, however, have electrodes made of platinum platelets and electrical connection lines soldered to them, with an inner stranded line and an outer stranded line soldered up to a through opening inside the catheter tube, which catheters therefore have a considerable amount due to the multipart nature of their treatment probes and due to the high proportion of platinum Manufacturing expenses are connected. The known urethral catheters therefore require multiple use and repeated use for economic reasons, but this is only permitted in one test mode for reasons of hygiene. The invention is therefore based on the object of eliminating these deficiencies and creating a urethral catheter of the type described, which is characterized by a high level of functional reliability due to its low manufacturing costs and is therefore ideally suited for use as a disposable catheter. The invention solves this problem in that the treatment probe consists of a continuous wire which forms the electrode with a coiled uninsulated end and the connecting line with its remaining insulated length, the coiled end of the wire preferably being coated with a noble metal and the remaining length insulated with lacquer. To produce the desired urethral catheter, all that is required is an insulated, in particular enamel-insulated, wire, which at its end, which is stripped and advantageously coated with noble metal, is inserted into a conventional catheter tube and fastened with the coiled end in the inflow-side end region of the tube, then the wire in the tube-side end area of the tube through the through opening and the through opening to be covered and the catheter is ready for use except for the outer end of the wire with an electrical connector. The one-piece treatment probe not only simplifies production considerably, it also reduces the amount of precious metal required and not least because of the lack of solder joints and the like. Like. Improved functional reliability. The resulting urethral catheter is therefore ideal for single use for the treatment of urethral incontinence. In the drawing, the subject of the invention is illustrated in more detail by means of a schematic longitudinal section through a urethral catheter according to the invention. A urethral catheter 1 for single use for the treatment of urethral incontinence consists of a catheter tube 2, which has inflow openings 3 at one end and a hose connector 4 at the other and into which a treatment probe 5 is inserted. This treatment probe 5 is produced from a continuous wire 6, which forms an electrode with a coiled and gold-plated end 7 and, with its remaining enamel-insulated length 8, serves as an electrical connecting line. The coiled end 7 is fastened with an adhesive 9 in the catheter tube 2 and the wire 6 is led out of the catheter tube 2 through a through opening 10 in the end region on the tube side and provided with an electrical connector 11 after a selectable connection length. The through opening 10 is sealed with a shrink tube 12 which is drawn onto the outside of the catheter tube 2. The urethral catheter 1 according to the invention is distinguished by its high functional reliability with a relatively low production cost and is therefore ideally suited as a disposable catheter. 1.
