AT 401 691 B The invention relates to a ball joint with friction linings for underwater flash arms. Ball joint arms are often used in underwater photo equipment to attach underwater flash units and accessories to the camera body. Bullet arms with quick-release clamp connections are therefore used to quickly fix the flash unit in different positions to the photo unit. Position changes must be able to be carried out quickly, without special effort and without tools. While the set position is still relatively easy to hold under water due to its lower weight, this is much more difficult before and after diving over water. Conventional ball joint flash arms are hardly able to hold a flash unit weighing several kilograms in position even over water. 1 shows a ball joint for underwater lightning arms with friction linings and two joint balls and FIG. 2 shows a ball joint for underwater lightning arms with friction linings and a joint ball. 1 and 2 show two versions of such ball joints for underwater flash arms, the centerpiece of the joints are the joint balls 1 and the clamping parts 2. A fixing of the connecting arms 4 and 5 is achieved by tightening the clamping screw 3. By loosening the clamping screw 3, one reaches Loosen the clamping parts 2 for repositioning the flash unit to the photo device. In order to achieve the greatest possible clamping effect and thus holding force of the connecting arms, different material pairings were used: Articulated balls clamping parts steel light metal light metal light metal steel light metal steel steel light metal light metal with rubber or plastic inserts plastic plastic the connecting arms 4 and 5. This weak point of the previously known Kugelgeienkarme for underwater photography, is effectively remedied by the present invention. In order to achieve a high holding force for the connecting arms 4 and 5, when using joint balls 1 made of steel, light metal or plastic, clamping parts 2 made of steel, light metal or plastic are used, in which friction disks 6 made of known friction lining (brake or clutch linings) are used are. Another solution is to attach the friction lining not to the clamping parts 2. but to the joint balls 1. For this purpose, the joint balls 1 are covered with a friction lining or made from a friction lining. With the help of these friction linings on the clamping parts 2 or joint balls 1, a multiple holding force compared to previously known flash arms with ball joints is achieved. The shape of the friction discs 6 is cylindrical, with a spherical or conical recess on one side, in which the joint ball 1 is held by clamping. The advantages of ball joints with friction linings for underwater flash arms are as follows: 1) Significantly increased holding force (2-3 times) of the ball joints compared to previously known ball joints on flash arms for underwater photography. 2) High holding force with low clamping force and therefore easy operation of the clamping screws. 3) Smooth adjustment of the ball joints through the special nature of friction linings. 4) Possibility of fixed positioning, even of heavy flash units above and under water. 1. Ball joints for underwater flash arms, characterized in that in the clamping parts (2) of the ball joints, friction disks (6) made of friction lining (brake or clutch lining) with spherical or conical recesses are used, which hold the connecting arms (4 ) and (5) result. 2.
