EMI1.1

EMI1.1
The previous bridges for string instruments have a common contact surface for the strings and accordingly the vibrations of the bowed string are triggered simultaneously by the vibrations of the other strings.
These vibrations cause the strings that are not bowed to sound along and are also the reason why, especially with the lower quality string instruments, no full and pure sound can be produced.
According to the present invention, these inconveniences are to be avoided by giving each string its special contact surface.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment for a violin bridge.
The bar made of any material (wood, glass, porcelain, celluloid, tortoiseshell, hard rubber or the like) consists of four (or more) individual bars 1, 2, 3 and 4, which have a common base. The separation of the web into the individual webs is made by incisions. If, for example, string 6 is painted on a bridge according to the present invention, vibrations of strings 5, 7 and 8 are no longer triggered because the incisions interrupt the vibrations given to single bridge 2, so that the support for strings 5, 7 and 8 in The calm remains. With such a bridge one achieves a full and pure sound effect, so that even less valuable instruments can emit a clear and full tone.
