   Der Erfinder hat durch eingehende, lange Zeit hindurch angestellte Versuche gefunden, dass der den gebräuchlichen Sprechmaschinen anhaftende Übelstand der unvollkommenen Wiedergabe der auf den Platten bezw. Walzen verzeichneten Töne eine Folge der verhältnismässig starren Lagerung der Platten bezw. Walzen und der Schalldosenmembran ist. Es wurde wohl versucht, diesem Übelstande zum Teile dadurch abzuhelfen, dass die Schalldosenmembran zwischen Gummiringen gehalten angeordnet wurde. Diese Einrichtung erfüllt jedoch nur kurze Zeit ihren Zweck, da die Gummiringe späterhin ihre Elastizität verlieren und hart werden. 



   Man hat daher die Gummiringe durch Unterlagen aus Wachs, Kitt, Papier u. s. f. ersetzt, aber mit unbefriedigendem Erfolg, da diese Stoffe nicht elastisch sind. 



   Gemäss vorliegender Erfindung wird nun zwischen den die Phonogramme tragenden Platten bezw. Walzen und deren starrer Unterlage einerseits und zwischen dem Schalldosengehäuse und der Membran anderseits eine Zwischenlage aus einer elastischen, dauernd weich bleibenden Masse angeordnet, die aus einer Mischung von Gelatine und Glyzerin (Buch-   druckwalzenmasse) besteht. Dadurch   sind die   erwähnten Übelstände beseitigt.
