Abstract

A two-part driver 3 for scraper chain conveyors has, on the one hand, a clamp part 5 comprising a chain link 4 and, on the other hand, a fastening part 7 which clamps the scraper 2 firmly. The clamp part 5 has two jaws 6, the concave sides of which are directed towards one another, and the fastening part 7 has essentially planar abutment surfaces 8 and a through-passage bore 9 for accommodating a bolt 10. Formed on the abutment surfaces 8 of the fastening part 7 are two short, projecting stubs 11, which are directed towards one another and may have circular cross sections. <IMAGE>

Description

The fastening part --7-- is provided with a through hole --9--, which passes through both halves and which serves to receive a screw bolt --10--. The bolt --10 also penetrates a hole in the scratch --2--. Furthermore, the fastening part has --7-two, projecting from its contact surfaces --8--, facing each other --11--.

These pins --11--, which have a circular cross section, penetrate from both sides into a corresponding hole provided in the scratch.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, the cross section of the jaws --6-- is approximately trapezoidal in the region of their contact with the chain link --4--, the longer side 1 of this cross section facing the chain link --4--. This ensures that the chain links connecting to the chain link --4-- have sufficient mobility and that, on the other hand, the strength of the jaws is sufficiently high.

After the driver has been fastened to the scraper --2-- or to the chain link --4- and in accordance with the tightening of the screw bolt, it is conveniently secured against loosening with a locking plate --12--. This plate --12-- is screwed on both sides with the screw connection and after tightening the screw bolt --10-- part of the plate can be bent in a known manner, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, in order to to prevent mutual rotation of the bolt head or the nut.

The driver according to the invention is preferably produced by forging, but it can also be produced by casting or machining. The particular advantages of the driver according to the invention lie in the fact that no welds need to be carried out on the driver or on the scratch or that the scratch requires special receiving means for fastening to the driver. It is only necessary to drill two holes at the corresponding points on the edge of the scratches.

The attachment can be done very quickly, since only one screw per driver has to be tightened. Since the two halves of the driver are of identical construction, the half lying in the conveying direction and therefore more wear-resistant can either be exchanged for a new driver half or the driver can be reversed with respect to the conveying direction. In this way, the lifespan of the drivers is extended. The driver also has no influence on the mobility of the conveyor chains, so that they can be deflected via toothed as well as toothless deflection wheels.
