<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a device for separating bulk material with portions of
Hard materials and fine compost, in particular composted waste and contained therein non-rotting materials, such as glass, iron, stones, etc., with a housing that provides an inlet for the
Bulk material and each has an outlet for the hard materials and the fine compost, with a moving sieve arranged in the housing and means for producing at least a part of the
Bulk air flow and with a feed device. the sieve forming a sieve drum rotating about its longitudinal central axis, the generatrices of the jacket being oblique to the horizontal and for example forming a truncated cone and into which the bulk material to be separated is introduced at an inlet end.
When composting household waste, it is known to separate larger, non-rotting constituents from the rotting substances, in part manually or using magnets or special vibrators.
The currently known composting methods generally provide that the collected
Household waste is fed to a rotor shear, in which coarser parts are crushed. Metallic objects are generally removed after the bulk material has left these rotor shears, u. by means of magnets. At this point sewage sludge can be added to household waste. The mixture is then fed to a reaction drum, in which it remains for 30 hours and longer. The biochemical rotting process is initiated in the reaction drum.
After leaving the reaction drum, the bulk material can either be sent to a landfill or applied in table top rents to continue composting. The product thus obtained can be used as agricultural compost. The fact that it cannot be used as fine compost is due to the fact that at this point in time there are still many non-rotting, coarse-grained substances, such as. B. glass fragments, small pieces of metal, such as nails, screws, or the like. And tin capsules in the mass.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a device of the type mentioned at the outset with which these coarse-grained solids can be sorted out of the composted waste and separated from it.
From AT-PS No. 317806 is a device for the sorting and separation of a majority of
Grains of lower levitation speed and a majority of grains of higher levitation speed are known.
The disadvantage of this device is the fact that it is mechanically very complex and therefore very expensive to manufacture. A relatively high susceptibility to faults cannot be ruled out either.
According to the invention, such a device is to be improved in such a way that it is simpler in construction, therefore cheaper, and yet offers comparable or even improved work results.
This is achieved according to the invention in that at the opposite end there is a suction device for the fine compost, to which the generators of the jacket of the screening drum rise at least on the underside of the screening drum and that the outlet for the hard materials is located at the inlet end of the screening drum.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the sieve drum is a truncated cone, the axis of rotation of which is horizontal.
Are advantageous directly on the screen, d. H. attached to the jacket of the sieve drum, blades which ensure good swirling of the bulk material.
The floating of the particles within the sieve drum can be improved by a fan through which air is supplied to the inlet end of the sieve drum. The air supply is essentially from the bottom up, u. between across the drum.
The distance between the sieve drum and the suction device is advantageously adjustable, the adjustment range being approximately 200 mm.
The suction power can be regulated by increasing or decreasing the distance.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the housing has at least one opening in front of the suction device through which secondary air is sucked in.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In a further exemplary embodiment it is provided that there is an annular gap between the housing and the suction device.
The speed of rotation of the screen drum can also be regulated, for example, by a regulating gear. By coordinating the suction effect of the suction fan on the one hand and the rotation speed of the sieve drum on the other hand, an optimal separation of the bulk material components can be achieved.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in detail below with reference to the drawing.
The drawing shows schematically the device according to the invention.
The main component of the device is the frustoconical sieve drum --1--, which is arranged in the housing --2--. The sieve drum-l-is rotatable about its longitudinal center axis and is driven by a motor --15--. A control gear can be provided between the motor --15-- and the sieve drum.
A screw conveyor --3-- protrudes into the sieve drum. The screw conveyor --3 - is loaded via a hopper --4--, into which the unsorted bulk material is introduced via a conveyor.

--3-- and sieve drum --1--.
The screw conveyor --3-- is preferably adjustable. It can protrude more or less far into the sieve drum.
The vortex effect in the sieve drum-l-is controlled by a supply air fan --6--
EMI2.2
probably exposed to the agitation of the rotary movement of the sieve drum-l- as well as to the air flow supplied by the supply air fan and the suction effect of the suction device --8--. Correct coordination of these three sizes means that the coarse-grained hard materials are fed over the inclined jacket on the underside of the sieve drum in the direction of arrow H into the hard material collector --9-- and from there into a collecting container indicated with --10-- .
The finer particles that form the actual fine compost are pulled out of the sieve drum --1-- in the direction of arrow F by the suction of the suction device --8-- and a filling container --11 - via the suction device --8-- - fed.
A bag filling machine can be connected to the filling container --11--, so that it is possible to fill the fine compost obtained in bags and to transport it further.
In the exemplary embodiment described, the sieve drum is -1-2 m long and has a larger diameter of 1, 100 mm and a smaller diameter of 400 mm. The distance between the connection funnel of the suction device --8-- and the edge of the housing --12-- can be adjusted over a range of 200 mm. There is an annular gap --14-- between the connection funnel --13-- of the suction device and the edge --12-- of the housing, through which secondary air is sucked in by the suction device --8--. By controlling the volume of secondary air, the suction effect within the housing --2-- and thus within the sieve drum --1-- can be regulated.
