<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The invention relates to a wire drawing machine with a plurality of reels arranged one behind the other and driven by separate motors, between which dancer rolls and drawing dies are arranged, and a controller for controlling the motors of the reels as a function of the speed of a motor selected as a master motor from the group of these motors , wherein this control is influenced by the sensors assigned to the dancer roles and the master motor is acted upon by a control which specifies a preselectable speed.
In known wire drawing machines of this type, the problem arises that when the end of the raw wire to be drawn wound on a drum is connected to the start of another drum, the entire machine must be stopped, the risk of wire breakage being greatest when the machine is started and stopped . Another problem arises with such machines when their performance is to be increased by adding a further drawing block or a further reel. In such a case, a pulling block of the same type or a similar reel has hitherto usually been added, but this often resulted in considerable space problems or such an expansion could not be carried out due to the lack of space.
DE-OS 1452499 has already proposed a rod and wire-rolling drawing device in which reels from two raw rolls of the raw wire can be inserted from the raw wire between the same take-off rolls, to which straightening rolls and guides and roll stands, of which are connected each is powered by a separate motor that can be controlled individually and separately. In this known device, it is therefore possible to start the second reel immediately after the end of the one supply roll has been drawn in, and to insert the start of the second supply roll into the take-off rollers. However, there is the disadvantage that it is not possible to connect the end of the one supply roll to the beginning of the second supply roll and therefore only relatively strong raw wires can be used.
Furthermore, US Pat. No. 2, 263, 246 proposes a wire drawing device in which each reel is driven by a separate motor, the torque of each motor being adjustable by hand and in which the individual motors are not influenced by one another . The drive of each reel can be stopped by a wire break sensor that is assigned to each individual reel.
Since, in this known device, there is also no intermediate storage for the supply of raw wire, it is also necessary with this device to shut down the system as soon as the supply of raw wire is exhausted in order to be able to connect its end to the start of a new roll of raw wire. However, this gives rise to the problems already mentioned.
The aim of the invention is to avoid these disadvantages and to propose a wire drawing machine of the type mentioned at the outset which enables a change or a connection of the end of a drum wound with raw wire to the start of a new drum without the machine coming to a standstill.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the front reel, viewed in the direction of drawing, with the interposition of a further drawing die, is connected upstream of a further reel, which is used as a buffer for the wire to be drawn, and is driven by a motor with a flyer carrying the outgoing wire, the motor being controlled by this reel can be influenced by means of a switch either from the sensors monitoring the position of the flyer or from a separate signal transmitter which specifies a specific, possibly adjustable, speed, and furthermore, in a manner known per se, an arbitrarily actuable switch is provided for separately stopping the motor of the upstream reel.
These measures make it possible to drive the upstream reel, which serves as a buffer, by acting on the control of the motor of this reel by the signal transmitter faster than it corresponds to the pulling speed of the wire between this reel and the downstream one, so that more material is applied to the reel or is wound up as it is subtracted from it. Then the drive of this upstream reel can be stopped and the stock of raw wire located on it can be unwound using the flyer and fed to the other stations of the machine.
After welding the beginning of another with
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
At the end of the previous drum, the wire of the reel wound around the raw wire can be switched on again, either with an increased speed, by applying its control by the signal generator, with an increased speed that allows material to accumulate on the reel, or with a pulling speed of the wire between the reel equipped with the flyer and the reel in line can be driven at the appropriate speed. In the latter case, the control is influenced by the sensors monitoring the position of the flyer and is regulated in such a way that the flyer stands still, i.e. H. that just as much material is wound onto the reel as is taken off.
According to a further feature of the invention, it can be provided that the sensors monitoring the position of the flyer are formed by light barriers, into the beam path of which the flyer protrudes, and which are arranged in an arc around the reel.
This results in a very simple construction of the sensors monitoring the flyer.
Another also very advantageous solution is obtained if the sensor monitoring the position of the flyer is arranged by light-sensitive elements arranged in a circular arc around the reel, e.g. B. photodiodes or phototransistors are formed, which cooperate with a light source arranged on the flyer.
These measures allow a very sensitive regulation of the motor driving the reel, which, however, also requires a considerable amount of circuitry in the control.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the switch provided for stopping the motor of the upstream reel is coupled to a changeover switch influencing the control of the master motor, which, when the switch is in the stop position, controls the master motor in the sense of a reduced speed of the reel and thus also affects the downstream reels.
Due to the compulsory reduction in the working speed of the machine when the upstream reel is at a standstill, it can be made relatively small, since it does not have to take up excessive amounts of raw wire in order, for. B. to connect a new drum to the end of the previous one. On the other hand, a very uniform finished wire is obtained even when driving at a reduced speed at times.
By controlling the upstream reel depending on the position of the flyer instead of depending on the position of a dancer roll, there is a significant space saving in the longitudinal extent of the entire machine, which also includes the forced coupling of the switch that enables the upstream reel to be stopped with the one speed - Modification of the guide motor enables switch, which makes it possible to use a smaller reel.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, which schematically shows a wire drawing machine.
The reel-l-is driven by a motor --8-- and takes the raw wire to be drawn from a storage drum (not shown). This raw wire is pulled off via a flyer - pulled over the head and passed through a corresponding wire guide --41-- to a conventional drawing die --15-- and from there to a reel --2-- which is driven by a motor --16- -, Which serves as a lead motor, is driven.
From this reel --2--, the wire that is now drawn forward is guided via a dancer roll --22-- to another drawing die --28-- and from there to another reel --3--, which is dependent on one Master motor --16-- controlled motor --27-- is driven.
From this reel --3-- the wire is also led to the next reel via a dancer roll --30-- and another drawing die --35--. The wire is guided over any number of similarly designed reels including dancer rolls and drawing dies, which of course differ in their diameters, to the last reel --4--, which is driven by the motor - and from which the wire is driven by a dancer roll --38-- arrives at a winding drum (not shown) for the finished wire.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The control of the individual motors - 8, 16, 27, 36-- takes place in such a way that when the switch --9-- is closed, which means that the changeover switch --20--, which is coupled to it in a manner not shown, does not position shown, switch --21-- is closed.
As a result, the control --19-- of the master motor --16-- begins to act upon it in the sense of a run-up to a preset normal speed and keeps it at this speed.
With the master motor --16-- two tacho generators --17, 18-- are coupled, one of the speed
EMI3.1
Relative signals are taken.
The tachometer generator --18-- is connected to the control --26-- of the motor --27-- via the variable resistors --24, 25--, whereby the resistor -24-- or its actuator with that of the Dancer roller --22-- assigned to the deflection roller --23--, over which the pull rope of the dancer roller --22-- is guided. This changes the value of the resistance --24-- when the dancer roll-22-- moves. Resistor --25-- is designed as an adjusting resistor that is set depending on the intended reduction in cross-section of the wire between reels - 2 and 3--.
This results in a closed control loop for the motor --27-- and this motor therefore runs up at the same time as the master motor --16-- and is kept at a speed ratio to the master motor, which ensures a constant tension of the wire. The control --26-- of the motor --27-- applies this depending on the signals present at its input.
Since the motor --27-- is also coupled to a tachometer generator --20--, which is electrically connected via a variable resistor --32- coupled to the deflection roller --31-- of the pull rope of the dancer roll --30-- - and an adjustment resistor --33-- is connected to the control --34-- of the motor of the next reel to set the intended cross-section reduction, this motor also starts up and is kept at a speed that ensures a uniform pull of the wire. This fact is also due to the same structure of all stations (not shown) for these reels or their motors, which are arranged between reels 3 and 4 and not shown.
The motor --36-- the reel --4-- is coupled to a tachogenerator-37, which is electrically connected via a variable resistor --40- connected to the deflection pulley --39-- of the pull rope of the dancer pulley-38--. - Is connected to the control --42-- of the drive motor of the winding device (not shown) (not shown), so that the winding device is also driven at a speed corresponding to the speed of the reel --4--.
The reel-l or. their motor --8-- can be controlled in the same way as motor --27-- reel --3-- depending on the speed of the master motor. The tachogenerator is
EMI3.2
conditional cross-section reduction of the raw wire is set, as well as a resistance switch combination --13-- and the changeover switch --13 '- and photo elements --7-- which act as switches and which are arranged in a circular arc around the reel - connected to the control --10-- the motor --8-- the reel --1--. Switch --9-- is also interposed, which enables the reel-1-to be stopped separately from the other reel drives.
The photo elements --7-- work together with light sources --6--, with which they form light barriers --6, 7--, in the beam path of which the flyer --5-- protrudes. Furthermore, the changeover switch --12-- enables the control --10-- of the motor --8-- to be supplied with the signal from the signal generator --12--, which determines a certain, if applicable, adjustable speed of the motor - -8-- pretends.
In normal operation, the changeover switch --11-- is in the position shown, whereby the motor --8-- is regulated depending on the master motor --16--. The light barriers --6, 7-- monitor the position of the flyer --5--. The arrangement of the light barriers 6, 7 or the part of the flyer - 5-- protruding into their beam path is dimensioned such that one of the photo elements - 7 'or 7.
7V - discounted by the flyer
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
is covered and switched through, so that there is a closed current path from the tachometer generator --17 - to the control --10--. At a speed of the motor --8 - the photo element --7 "'- which is matched to the speed of the guide motor --16-- with a given reduction in cross-section of the wire, is covered by the flyer and therefore switched through. The flyer wanders --5--
EMI4.1
the flyer is covered and therefore switched through. The resistors --13 '- are designed in such a way that with the same signal present in the resistor / switch combination there is an increase or
Motor speed reduction --8 - by 5% with covered photo element - 7 ''
EMI4.2
the corresponding speed of the motor can be reached --8-- quickly.
If there is now a need to extend the raw wire to be drawn, then if there is insufficient wire supply on the reel-1, the changeover switch --11-- can be brought into the position not shown, as a result of which the control --10 - is applied by the signal generator - with signals that increase the speed to a predetermined
Create value, which means that the reel takes up more raw wire than is drawn off via the flyer --5--. This causes the flyer to spin. However, although the photo elements are covered one after the other, this has no effect on the control 10--, since this is only acted on by the signal generator --12--.
If there is enough raw wire on the reel-l-, it can be stopped by opening switch --9--. When the switch --9-- is coupled with the changeover switch --20-, the control --19-- is simultaneously set to a low speed, which means that the speed of the master motor --16-- and thus the speed of the drives of the other reels --3, 4-- as well as the drive of the rewinder decrease accordingly.
While the reel-1-is at a standstill, the wire that has accumulated on it is pulled off over the flyer-S-, which rotates in the process. The end of the raw wire to be drawn can also be connected to the start of a new drum wound with raw wire. After completing this work, switch --9-- is closed again, which also causes the master motor --16-- to return to its normal speed due to the coupling of this switch with the changeover switch --20--.
During this phase, the control is expediently connected to the signal generator 12 to bring the reel 1 to a speed which is higher than the speed corresponding to the speed of the guide motor 16, in order to re-wire the reel --1-- to collect. As soon as enough material has accumulated on the reel-1, the changeover switch --11-- is brought into the position shown, so that the motor-8 is regulated again depending on the master motor --16--.
