Verfahren zur Verhinderung des Ansatzes von festem Kesselstein.
Es sind Antikesselsteinmittel der Gerbstoffgrnppe bekannt (s. Fischer's Chemische Technologie des Wassers, 1878, S. 237 bis 239, und D. R. P. Nr. 77124), die die Kesselsteinbildung verhindern sollen. Doch enthalten diese Körper Karboxylgruppen, besitzen a) so Säurccharakter. Daher greifen diese Mitte) das Metall der Kesselwände an.

Zur Ausführung dos beschriebenen Verfahrens setzt man die Tanningensäure direkt dem Speisewasser zu, oder man tränkt Korkstücke mit einer Auflösung von Tanningen- säure und tut diese in den Kessel, wie dies bei anderen solchen Mitteln schon bekannt ist.
