Der Apparat, dessen Netz d dem im zu schützenden Raume befindlichen Gas von allen Seiten freie Zuströmung gewährt, kann in beliebiger Weise montiert, bezw. aufgehängt werden.
In Fig. 1 ist der Apparat mittels der Schraube auf die Konsole k befestigt. Bei der in Fig. 5 veranschaulichten Ausführungsform ist das nach unten sich konisch verjüngende Netz auf den gleichfalls an eine Konsole befestigten Ring aufgesetzt.
Fig. 6 veranschaulicht einen Apparat, der auf dem längs der Stange m verschiebbaren Ring n'montiert ist. Der in den Fig. 3 und 4 veranschaulichte Apparat unterscheidet sich von den bisher beschriebenen dadurch, dass die Kontinuierlichkeit der Funktion der Signalvorrichtung auch in dem Falle gesichert ist, wenn die Quecksilbersäule zufolge ihrer Abkühlung oder der Beschädigung des Platinschwammes sinkt.
