Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

   The invention relates to a disk-shaped toy which has at least one centrally symmetrically arranged pair of holes through which a cord with a handle on each side of the disk is pulled, the ends of which are linked to one another and which after the cord has been initially twisted by rhythmically tensioning and releasing the twisted one Cord can be rotated with changing direction of rotation. You may hear a soft whir.

  A device of the type mentioned provides, for example. each not too small button that can also be rotated as described above.

  Discs with multiple holes, but which are not hollow, may also make whirring noises if they are rotated in the manner specified.

  The "hole siren" is known from physics lessons, but is set in rotation in a different way and still requires its own blowing through an air stream in order to function, that is, to produce sounds.

  The invention has for its object to improve a device of the generic type in such a way that the acoustic signals emanating from the rotating disc are 1. of better quality and, above all, 2. can be changed and actively determined in a variety of ways by simple interventions by the player can.

  The invention is based on the idea of designing the rotating disk as if a circular flute, a self-contained transverse flute with several finger holes had been added to the outside, which is now not blown by mouth, but by the wind caused by the rotation of the disk arises.

  The solution according to the invention consists in that a peripheral, hollow, and therefore bulge-shaped part with several openings is connected to a solid, that is to say not hollow, central region, which makes it possible, as described above, to set the disc in rotation. The openings can be closed individually and reversibly, which means that the rotating disc generates different tones, sequences of sounds or noises depending on the number and shape of the open openings.

  In addition to having fun playing, the toy according to the invention is intended to convey to the player the direct connections between the number of open openings in the hollow area of the disk, the rotational speed and the resulting acoustic result, i.e. to enable basic acoustic principles to be explored by trying out all possible hole combinations.

  In a further development of the toy according to the invention, it is provided that the hollow outer area of the disk also has cross sections other than that of a transverse flute, that is to say not only circular. to design.

  Different embodiments of the toy according to the invention also result from the different design of the openings in the hollow edge region as round holes, slots or in another shape.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 Different embodiments of the toy according to the invention also result from the different possibilities of closing the openings in the hollow edge area. One of these would be the application of adhesive (possibly insulating tape), which also allows only a partial closing of the openings, with the effect that the acoustic signals only occur in one direction of rotation, but not in the other. Other closures are also possible.

  The invention is explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

  1 shows an elevation of a pane (8) according to the invention, including the associated cross section. A distinction must be made: - The non-hollow central area (1) with the central symmetry arranged in pairs
 EMI2.1
 the greater the distance, i.e. (4) instead of (3), the rotation rhythm also changes and, as a result, the repetition frequency of the resulting tones.

    - The outer, hollow area (2), in this case with a circular cross section, is shown here with 8 round holes (7) on the broad side of the disc (S). The openings (7) in the area (2) can also be made in other places, for example. tangentially, with maximum distance from the center Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 show in an analogous manner examples of embodiments of the disc (8) with other cross sections. Since there are endless possibilities to vary the cross section of the hollow area (2), it is not possible to display them all.
 EMI2.2
 complete with knotted drive cord (6) and two handles (5).

  As soon as the individual parts such as washer (8), cord (6) and handles (5) have been joined, as shown in Fig. 4, you can start playing: You push the knot of the cord to one of the handles and take one each Grip in each hand, pushes the disc in the middle, pulls the handles apart and tightens the cord slightly. You roll the disc over the body a few times (e.g. from top to bottom) so that the cord twists. By rhythmically pulling the handles apart and releasing them, the disc now rotates with a changing direction of rotation.

  By closing individual holes, e.g. By sticking with a round sticker or a piece of insulating tape, different combinations of open holes can be made.

  As a result, the rotating disc also emits various tones, sequences of sounds or noises, the origin and volume of which are also influenced by the speed of rotation.

  If holes are only partially glued, this means that acoustic signals can only be heard in one direction of rotation. Different cord lengths and different drive holes change the rhythm of the repeating tones.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   The use of two discs on a common cord results in two voices. When several players play with differently locked disks at the same time you get a variety of tones and rhythms. All the more, even if the panes are of different sizes.

  The use of the device also has a training effect on the muscles of the arms and chest, which can also be used without acoustic signals. if you close all openings of the pane.

  Unbreakable plastic is a suitable material for the disc (8).

  The drive cord (6) must be of tearproof quality, in the manner of curtain cords.

  The thickness and length of the cord have an influence on the turning rhythm and can be varied.

  The handles (5) can be approximately 7 cm long pieces of dowel wood with a 10 mm cross-section, provided with a bore of 3 mm in diameter which is normal to the longitudinal axis at half length, or can be produced analogously from plastic.

  The stickers should have the quality of insulating tape and should be reusable.

  If plugs or flaps are used to close the holes, they are also easiest to manufacture from plastic.

  There are endless possibilities for the color design, but it has no influence on the function of the invention.
