Bremsklotz.
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen neuen Bremsklotz, der bei geringem Preise ausserordentlich wirksam und dauerhaft ist und bei dem eine wirksame Angriffsfläche unter Vermeidung der Bildung von Metallstaub erzielt wird.
Der Block besteht aus einem Fasermaterial, einem geeigneten Bindemittel und Bolzen oder dgl. aus Metall, welche innig zusammen gemischt und durch Pressung vereinigt werden.
Die mit dem zu bremsenden Rade oder dgl. in Berührung kommende Fläche wird der Erfindung gemäss zum überwiegenden Teile aus Fasermaterial. ungefähr 60% und teilweise aus Metall und Bindemittel, ungefähr 40%, gebildet.
Das Fasermaterial kann aus zerkleinerten Baumwollegewebel1 oder dgl. bestehen. Nachdem dieses Material gelockert worden ist, wird es mit einem geeigneten Bindemittel imprägniert, z. B. mit einer erhitzten Mischung von Harzpech und Gummikitt, der aus vulkanisiertem Abfallgummi hergestellt wird.
Das derart imprägnierte Fasermaterial wird dann in Klötze oder Blöcke von geeigneten Abmessungen gepresst, wobei der Überschuss an Bindemittel ausgedrückt wird. Metallstücke, wie Bolzen, Kugeln oder dgl. werden vorher der Masse zugefügt und derart verteilt, dass Rie. al1 der Oberfläche des Klotzes zum Vorschein kommen. Die Metallteile können mit Widerhaken oder dgl. ausgerüstet sein, um besser in ihrer Lage gesichert zu sein.
Ein eiserner Schuh oder dgl. dient, wie üblich, als, Halter für den so gefertigten Klotz.
Das Metall mag ungefähr ein Drittel der ganzen Bremsfläche ausmachen. Der übrige überwiegende Teil der Bremsfläche besteht aus zerkleinertem Fasermaterial, da vorzugsweise nur gerade genug Bindemittel zum Imprägnieren und zum Zusammenhalten der Fasern zur Ver- wendung kommt.
Bei Gebrauch des Klotzes für Wagenräder finden vorzugsweise gehärtete eiserne Bolzen Anwendung. Für Bremsscheiben benutzt man zweckmässig weiches Eisen.
