 EMI1.2
Air extractors come into use to clean the dusty air extracted, such as in the branches. U.S. Patent No. 19134 suggesting the use of a waterskier.
 EMI1.3
To make it as economical as possible, according to the present method, the water sluice is always formed by the same amount of water in a closed boiler, which is set in constant circulation with the aid of a pump.

In the drawing, an apparatus used to carry out the method is shown schematically in cross section.

It essentially consists of a closed boiler, about half filled with water, from the lower part of which the suction line b of a pump c branches off, the pressure line cl of which opens into a number of showers arranged in the upper part of the boiler through which above the water level, u. zw. Always with the same amount of water contained in the boiler, a tight water halo can be produced, which divides the upper boiler room into two parts.

From the lower of these two parts branches leading to the suction line r, from the upper part, u. Between the highest point of the boiler, the one leading to the vacuum pump

to leach, the water veil must pass and is freed from all dust and fast particles.

The contamination of the rotary pump c, which is used to generate the water veil, can best be prevented by placing an easily replaceable, coarse-pored filter w some distance below the water level, which retains the sludge formed by the dust and fibers on the water surface.

The entrainment of water particles into the line r can be prevented in a known manner by arranging areas z.
