Connection of at least two furniture elements
The invention relates to a connection of at least two furniture elements made of plastic, one having at least one recess and another having at least one protrusion engaging in the recess, which has the shape of the recess, the axis of the protrusion and the recess being parallel to at least one lateral Boundary surface of the furniture element runs.
The known types of connection of elements in furniture made of wood were used to connect plastic elements. However, this transfer of the connection systems does not take into account the material properties of the plastic. Remember that natural wood has two preferred directions with very different material properties. These connection systems were developed taking these material properties of wood and the manufacturing technology into account. It is known to connect two wooden elements in that one has a dovetail-shaped recess while the other has a dovetail-shaped projection. It is also known to use cylindrical recesses and projections as a connection system.
However, all these known connection systems have the disadvantage that the two elements to be connected to one another can be displaced in parallel along the connection system. This means that particular care must be taken when assembling the elements in order to obtain the desired combination.
The aim of the invention is to create a connection between two furniture elements made of plastic, the formation of the connection being intended to do justice to the material properties of the plastic and also to enable the simplest possible assembly.
The aim of the invention is achieved in that the projection and recess have the shape of a cone or a truncated cone.
According to a further feature of the invention, the base circle of the cone or truncated cone is cut through a lateral boundary surface of the furniture element. The furniture elements for a connection of this type can be produced in a particularly simple and labor-saving manner, with a good connection of the two furniture elements being ensured at the same time.
The invention will now be explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. 1 shows two furniture elements that are not connected to one another in a side view, FIG. 2 shows two furniture elements that are not connected to one another in a plan view, and FIG. 3 shows two connected furniture elements in a plan view.

are frustoconical. As shown in Fig. 2, the base circle --5-- of the recess --4-- is cut by the boundary surface-6-. In Fig. 3 the connected elements - 1 and 2 - are shown. As can be seen from the entire drawings, the two interconnected elements can only be displaced parallel to one another in one direction.
One becomes in

generally design the furniture elements so that the base circle of the recess faces the floor, whereas the tip of the cone or the truncated cone faces upwards. This enables the two furniture elements to be held together by gravity in a favorable manner. Naturally, it is also possible, in addition to this mechanical connection, to provide the recess and / or the projection with adhesive, whereby a further connection of the two elements can be achieved. In this case, the projections and recesses serve not only for connection but also for better assembly.
There is also the possibility of jamming the furniture elements in that a wedge, nail or the like is driven into the projection, whereby the projection expands, so that a connection that is non-displaceable in all directions is achieved.
