Elektrischer Temperaturregler
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Electric temperature controller
The invention relates to an electrical temperature controller having a
Snap-action switch having snap-action spring, the switching elements of which are fastened to a mounting plate with the interposition of preferably ceramic insulating layers, and which has a bimetal sensor via an electrically and thermally insulating transmission pin in
Is connected, the bimetal sensor being in contact at one end with the surface to be monitored. Such temperature regulators are already known. In the case of the known temperature regulators, however, assembly is difficult because the individual parts are assembled separately and the position of these parts must only be coordinated with one another after assembly in order to ensure that the temperature regulator functions properly.
The invention has set itself the task of avoiding this disadvantage and the invention consists essentially in the fact that the end of the bimetallic sensor in contact with the surface to be monitored is connected to a support arm attached to the snap switch, preferably to its mounting plate. Because the end of the bimetal sensor in contact with the surface to be monitored is connected to a support arm on which the snap switch or its mounting plate is also arranged, the temperature controller can be fastened as a mounting unit on the surface to be monitored, so that no subsequent setting is required is required between the bimetal sensor and the switching elements of the snap-action switch that interact with this bimetal sensor.
Nevertheless, with the inventive design of the temperature controller, the bimetal sensor can be connected directly to the surface to be monitored, whereby the arrangement of the support arm prevents the switching elements from assuming the temperature of the surface to be monitored, which leads to switching differences and display delays, which again can result in undesired overheating. In the case of the temperature regulator designed according to the invention, inexact switching operations are prevented and the ideal conditions are created with regard to the switching delays with the simplest possible installation.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the support arm has at least one recess in the area between the connection point with the bimetal sensor and the mounting plate, through which the thermal conductivity of the support arm is reduced and the heat transfer between the connection point with the bimetal sensor and the mounting plate is kept low in the desired manner can be. For the same purpose, a design of the temperature controller in which the support arm according to the invention tapers at least in the area of a recess towards the bimetal sensor serves.
The support arm expediently runs in longitudinal section approximately up to the transmission pin at least approximately parallel to the surface to be monitored, then at an obtuse angle to this surface and then again parallel to it. It is advantageous if at least the part of the support arm that extends from the snap switch to the obtuse angle is arranged at the edges,

has reinforcing ribs extending transversely to its main plane, which prevent bending of this part in which the setpoint adjuster for the snap switch is provided.
The invention is explained schematically in the drawings using an exemplary embodiment.
FIG. 1 shows a temperature regulator designed according to the invention partly in side section, partly in section along the line A-B in FIG. 2 and FIG. 2 shows a view of the temperature regulator in the direction of arrow 11 in FIG.
The temperature regulator according to the invention has a base-1-to which the individual parts of the snap switch are attached. This snap-action switch consists of a fixed contact --2-- and the snap-action contact-3-- on which a movable contact - 4- is arranged.
EMI2.1
--1-- a mounting plate --5 -, support arm - 12 - on the surface to be monitored --9-- takes place at the point - 13--.
The arrangement of such a support arm has the advantage that the entire
EMI2.2
insulated, so that the temperature changes occurring on the area to be monitored are not transferred to the snap-action switch and thus ideal conditions are given with regard to switching delays.
EMI2.3
obliquely running part - 16 - a recess - 17 - and this obliquely running part - 16 - tapers approximately from the width corresponding to the diameter of the base - l - towards the bimetal sensor on its width. These two measures ensure that only a very small cross section, which is indicated in Fig. 2 by the line C-D, is available for the heat transfer between the bimetal sensor --7 - and the snap-action switch.
False displays or display delays due to the fact that the snap switch assumes the temperature of the bimetal are thus avoided.
On the part of the support arm -12- which forms the mounting plate -5- and which receives the setpoint adjuster -6-, reinforcing ribs -19,20- are expediently provided.
