Turbine with helical, covered passages on the drum.
The subject of the present invention is a turbine with helical closed passages on the drum. These passages, which serve as steam paths, have a smooth, obstacle-free slide surface, which increases continuously against the outflow, and a corresponding, continuously increasing, obstacle-free pronl between inflow and outflow.
In the accompanying drawings, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated by an exemplary embodiment, u. zw. shows: Fig. 1 is a vertical longitudinal section through a turbine, Fig. 2 is a section along the line --A (Fig. 1), Fig. 3 is a section along the line -. ss (Fig. 1), Fig. 4 and 5 show a section and view of a part of the turbine, Fig. 6 shows a seal of the drum on a larger scale.
The turbine consists in a known manner of a rotatably mounted drum 1 which is mounted in a cylindrical housing 2 in a sealed manner. The drum sits on a shaft 3. The housing is closed at both ends by Dockel 4,

flow openings 5, tU'or which a slide, not shown in the drawing, can be arranged to regulate the steam supply.
Helical passages C are provided on the circumference of the drum, which extend from the steam inflow side,
EMI1.2
If the core 9, including the cover and wedges, cannot be pressed out by the vapor pressure, a corresponding extension 10 is provided on the inflow base, in which the casting core is anchored equally against the pressure direction.
Only two corridors are indicated in the drawing, but it remains at liberty to provide as much of them as are deemed necessary. The channels for forward and reverse gear are located on drum parts that are separate from one another (FIG. 1). For each of these, an inflow opening 5 and an outflow opening 11 are provided in the housing.

stored parts, of which one or the other is always effective, depending on whether steam is let into one or the other part due to the reversal. The steam combs are opposed to one another by eyelid rings 7, 2 which fit into grooves in the drums

switched, which contribute significantly to improving the seal.
As can be seen from the illustration, the helical passages offer completely unobstructed slideway surfaces for the steam acting in them, so that this in the

flow to be widened passages, so that its power is fully utilized before it can escape or enter a condenser.
