Process for the representation of a white color consisting essentially of normal lead carbonate.
The subject of the present invention is a process for the production of a white lead paint which consists essentially of neutral carbonate of lead. It is known that precipitating lead is obtained by introducing carbonic acid into basic lead acetate solutions, and it has also been observed by Rose that a precipitate of neutral carbonic acid lead is obtained by introducing carbonic acid into dilute bloi sugar solution. The white lead produced in this way is completely crystalline and cannot be used as a color.
Even with two
EMI1.1
the introduction of the carbonic acid into the neutral lead acetate solution is carried out under a pressure which substantially exceeds the pressure required to overcome the fluid resistance. The resulting carbonic acid lead has a carbonic acid content of about 16 liters, in contrast to about 1 ½ carbonic acid content with normal white lead, compared to 16 # 49% theoretical carbon dioxide content with normal carbonic acid lead.
The white color obtained in this way consists essentially of neutral hollow acid lead.
On the one hand, the new dye has a greater opacity than other previously known types of white lead and, furthermore, the new lead carbonate has proven to be more resistant to the blackening properties of atmospheric influences.
