Federnder Radreifen.
EMI1.1

Springy tire.
EMI1.1
the springs slide on the flat walls of one or more smooth, circumferential guides, which prevent the springs from bending sideways, but allow their elastic displacement in all other directions.
One form of implementation of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example. Fig. 1 is a cross section through the tire, Fig. 2 is a schematic view of a wheel with a part cut away. The tire consists in a known manner of a series of corrugated steel springs a, which are placed around the wheel and the ends of which are rigidly attached to the rim so that the central rounded part of the springs is inside and forms the rolling zone; this latter part is expediently made somewhat stronger in that each spring is correspondingly flattened from the center to its outer ends.
In order to keep the plane of symmetry of each spring in agreement with that of the wheel, a guide piece c can be used, which is arranged inside the spring. or guide pieces c ', which are arranged on the outside and shown in the drawing in dotted lines, or at the same time inner and outer guides. The guide pieces c and c 'are expediently arranged to be connected to one another and their guide surfaces are directed parallel or almost parallel, so that they serve as a support for the springs in the transverse direction, but allow them to move freely in all other directions. The guide piece c serves in the same way to limit deformations of the springs a so that their elastic limit is not reached.
The springs can be united with one another by a flexible rolling surface g made of leather or the like, on which they are riveted. If necessary, they can be enclosed in a flexible envelope, the edges of which are attached to the guides c'or d, so that they protect the springs from dirt.
