(Fig. 1, 2) bzw.--7b-- (Fig. 3, 4)- 7a bzw.

Electric pasture fence insulator
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Electric fence post secured so that a force acting in the fence wire cannot turn the insulator around the fastening nail or fastening screw and there is no risk of moisture entering the insulating bell. The arrangement according to the invention also has the advantage over the known insulator of less bending stress on the support piece and the holding member when the fence wire is mechanically stressed.
An upwardly directed opening for inserting the electric fence wire on the support piece and the non-rotating attachment of the insulator on the fence post are known per se for electric fence insulators in which the insulating body does not form an insulating bell open at the bottom and no elongated supporting piece is attached within such an insulating body; Rather, in the known insulator (German Auslegeschrift 1034238) an upwardly open slot for receiving the electric fence wire is provided in an insulating head of an insulating body, which is attached to the top of a downwardly inclined free leg of an angular bracket, the other curved leg of which the contact surface on Forms pasture fence post and is nailed to this below the free leg by means of a nail extending obliquely to this surface.
The angular retaining bracket does not form a bell-shaped drying space and the insulating head attached to the top of the retaining bracket and the underside of the retaining bracket are exposed to rainwater from above or from the side, which enters the receiving slot and moisture bridges for creeping currents between the fence wire and makes fence posts.
The prerequisite of the invention that such moisture bridges are avoided by the design of the insulator mentioned at the beginning is therefore not given in the last-mentioned known insulator.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the perpendicular to the contact surface of the post forms an angle of 45 with both the longitudinal axis of the support piece and the longitudinal axis of the bore of the insulating body.
In the following embodiments of the invention are explained with reference to the drawings, u. Between shows: FIG. 1 a pasture fence insulator cut along the longitudinal axes of the support piece and the holding member for the fence wire; FIG. 2 shows a pasture fence insulator according to FIG. 1 in a front view; FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of a pasture fence insulator cut along the longitudinal axes of the support piece and the holding member for the fence wire; 4 shows a pasture fence insulator according to FIG. 3 in a front view.
In the figures, the same or essentially the same parts are provided with the same reference symbols.
The pasture fence insulator has an insulating bell - 1 - which encloses a drying room-2-. In the use position of the pasture fence insulator shown in FIGS. H. the longitudinal center axis of the insulating bell is inclined in relation to the fence post - 4 - to which the electric fence insulator is attached. In this way no moisture can penetrate into the drying room - 2 -.
Inside the drying room-2-enclosed by the insulating bell-1-is a

(Fig. 1, 2) or - 7b - (Fig. 3, 4) - 7a or 7b - can be arranged completely within the insulating bell - l - or can extend more or less far (as from the Fig. 1 and 3 can be seen) extend beyond the edge of the insulating bell outwards. With the support pieces --7a and 7b - the holding elements --10a and lOb-- for holding the electric fence wire are connected.
As can be seen from Fig. 1, the holding member --10a-- is formed in one piece with the corresponding support piece --7a--. In the holding element --10a-- there is an opening --8-- for receiving the electric fence wire. In order to enable the fence wire to be inserted in the opening --8--, this is provided with a slot --9--. As can be seen from Fig. 2, the longitudinal axis of this slot is inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the opening, so that the through the

easier and simpler to design.
The longitudinal axis of parts - 7a and 10a - forms an obtuse angle a of preferably 1350 with the surface with which the insulating body rests on the fence post - 4 -.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4, an annular wire eyelet - 10b - is provided with the support piece - 7b - as a holding element for the fence wire. This wire eyelet is designed in the form of a spring coil with a pitch that is greater than the wire diameter, so that the fence wire can be inserted into the wire eyelet from above. In this embodiment, too, the axis of the support piece - 7b -, which preferably lies on the same straight line as the axis of the holding member --10b--, forms an obtuse angle of preferably 1350 with the contact surface of the insulating body on the fence post --4-- .
The axes of the parts - 7b and 10b - can also be angled to one another, as explained in the case of the embodiment according to FIGS.
The pasture fence insulator has a molded piece formed in one piece with the insulating bell - 1 - which is provided with the contact surface for fastening to the fence post --4--, Zu

--6-- can be driven into the stake. The longitudinal axis - 12 - of the bore - 5 - preferably forms a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the parts - 7a, 10a or 7b, 10b - and forms an obtuse angle ss of preferably 135 to the contact surface of the insulator. As a result of this inclination of the nail or. The screw axis to the pole axis or to the contact surface of the insulator on the pole, the insulator is secured against twisting out of its installation position.
