Process for the production of new anthraquinone dyes
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of new, water-soluble anthraquinone dyes of the general formula
EMI1.1
where R is a lower alkyl radical and n is a number from 5 to 11.
According to the invention, the dyes are obtained by reacting anthraquinone compounds of the general formula
EMI1.2
wherein R has the above meaning with methylolamides or with compounds of the general formula which react like these
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
in which n has the above meaning and X is a group which can be removed with cleavage of HX, in particular a hydroxyl, an alkoxy group, e.g. B. represents the methoxy or ethoxy group, or a chlorine or bromine substituent. in the presence of acidic condensing agents, especially strongly acidic condensers
EMI2.2
Mixtures, especially at temperatures from about -50C to about +90C, preferably from about 0 to about 300C.
Suitable compounds of the general formula (ID) are, for example
EMI2.3
Particularly suitable lower alkyl radicals R are those having 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
The new dyes are suitable for dyeing and printing leather, but above all wool, silk and synthetic polyamide fiber materials. On these materials, the dyes give greenish blue dyeings with very good light and wash fastness properties, good leveling properties and a favorable evening color.
In the following examples, parts stand for parts by weight; the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1: Dissolve in 1000 parts of piger sulfuric acid at 0 to 100 110 parts of methylol

which dyes wool, silk and polyamide fibers a greenish blue with good lightfastness and washfastness.
Example 2: Dissolve in 1000 parts of 96% sulfuric acid at 0 to 100, 170 parts of methylol - dodecanlactam and 318 parts of 1-amino-4-p-ethoxyphenyl-anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid and stir for 20 h at 200. One carries on ice, sucks the precipitated dye off and washes with water and with dilute sodium chloride solution. After drying, 460 parts of the dye of the formula are obtained
