Die erstere Art von Werkzeugen weist den Nachteil auf, dass das Schleifmittel unter dem Einfluss der Fliehkraft vom rotierenden Werkzeug weggeschleudert und durch das zum Schleifen nötige Wasser zum grössten Teil weggespült wird und infolgedessen verloren geht.
