<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
--2-- mit dem Trikot-Schaftteil-3-dargestellt ist.

Method and felt blank for the production of boots made of plastic or the like.
The invention relates to a method and a felt blank for the production of boots made of plastic or the like.
Boots made of plastic are already known, but they have a number of disadvantages.
It has been shown that, as a result of inadequate thermal insulation, wearing such boots, especially in the colder months of the year, for which they are just predestined, becomes quite problematic because the feet will soon get cold. The aim of the invention is therefore to provide improved boots of this type.
The method according to the invention for the production of boots made of plastic or the like is characterized in that at least in the foot area, a felt blank that serves as a lining and is preferably connected to a known tricot upper part is formed and placed on a last so that the adjacent edges of the Cut by means of an elastic band, e.g. B. a rubber band, whereupon the last is inserted into a hollow shape and provided in a known manner with a coating of plastic or of various materials for the shaft and sole.
According to one embodiment of the method, particularly when one-piece strips are used, the felt blank is provided with an incision in the area of the instep, the edges of which are connected with an elastic band. This makes it easier to pull the finished boot off the last. The felt blank is advantageously provided with sharpened edges which are then placed against one another in an overlapping manner.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawings. 1 shows a section of a boot manufactured according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows on an enlarged scale area II of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a preferred embodiment of the felt edges and their connection by means of an elastic rubber band and FIGS. 4 to 6 types of embodiment the cuts intended for the manufacture of the boot.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the boot produced according to the method according to the invention - 1 - consists of plastic and a felt blank, advantageously formed from tumbled felt, - - 2 -, the tricot shaft part - 3 - and this Parts encasing plastic compound (coating - -4--). For the mass, in particular plastics such. B. PVC, PVC modifications etc. proven; however, all other plastics that are suitable for injection molding processing can also be used. The general term “plastics” is also intended to include suitable rubber compounds formed from natural or synthetic rubber.
This also applies to the sole - 5 - of the boot, which, however, is preferably made from a fine-pored polyurethane elastomer that forms in the mold through the reaction of the components. in the

is covered. In order to avoid the formation of unevenness on the inner surfaces of the boot, it is advisable to make the transition points and also the edges of the felt blank sharpened and to overlap one another, as for example in FIG. 2 for the connection of the felt blank
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
--2-- is shown with the tricot shaft part 3.
To manufacture the boot, a felt cut - 2 - serving as a lining in the foot area is first formed and connected to a tricot shaft part - 3 -. The blank produced, for example, according to the drawing in FIG. 2 is then placed or pulled on a last corresponding to the boot shape. Its edges are connected in the sense of the illustration in FIG. 3 by means of a rubber band covering them. If a one-piece last is used, the felt blank - 2 - is provided with an incision - 6 - in the instep area, the edges of which are connected with an elastic band in the manner already mentioned. But it is also possible to use two-part strips connected by means of guide pins.
The strip covered by the blank is then inserted into a hollow mold and provided with a plastic coating in a manner known per se.
Different types of materials can also be used for the upper and sole. Preferably, the upper part is made of a flexible plastic by injection molding up to the foot area, while the sole-5-of the boot is made of a microporous, substantially better thermal insulation and more favorable usage properties, e.g. B. made of polyurethane, is formed in consecutive operations.
As can be seen in FIGS. 5 and 6, the felt blank can consist of several parts,

to ensure. It should also be mentioned that the tricot shaft part - 3 - can advantageously be connected on both of its side edges by a seam, not shown in detail. Although a felt lining is only provided in the foot area in the exemplary embodiments, the felt blank - 2 - can optionally also include the upper part - 3 - which is usually made of tricot, and be made in one piece.
The plastic boots produced according to the invention have the advantage that, in particular due to the lining of the felt cut, a significantly improved thermal insulation compared to the previously known boots and thus more comfortable wearing is ensured.
