lever along this path. But about this path and with it the work done and transferred to the pendulum, not from the moment of reaching. To make the variable contact surfaces dependent, a support screw 15 (Fig. 1) is provided, which limits a precisely fixable distance for the movement of the armature lever 6 downwards.
With this screw the work to be transferred to the pendulum and with it the swing of the pendulum can be precisely regulated. '
When using the above movement as a normal clock, a brass rod 25, which goes through the bore of one of the two magnetic cores and presses on the armature 17 by its own weight (or reinforced by a spring), is used to operate a control zinorblattes 43 (Fig. 1 and 2) whose downward and upward movement participates and by transferring this movement to a split pawl 27 (Fig. 1) pushes a ratchet wheel by one tooth and thus operates the pointer gear train of the control dial.
With this ratchet or that of a slave clock, a registration mechanism can be associated with its double-armed engaging lever 33 for signaling, switching on striking mechanisms, etc., a gearwheel which is connected to the pinwheel 47 by falling off a pin 45 of the ratchet wheel, controls by means of the locking cone 37 by one tooth. As a result of this movement, the pin wheel 47 is also controlled a little further, whereby the toggle lever 29

the contact 30 closes.
By this current circuit a striking mechanism shown in FIG. 6 is actuated.
In this case, a core b is movable in a solenoid a, which is held in the uppermost position (shown) by a bell hammer when the coil is de-energized. In the event of a current connection, the core is drawn into the solenoid until it depresses the piston c of a steam cylinder d held above by the spring g or weight at a corresponding depth and at the same time opens a contact e. At that moment the core is released and the bell hammer blows the bells.
Now the piston is slowly brought into the contact position, the core again

By interrupting the hammer mechanisms, the core of the single lever will go down again and the ratchet wheel and pin wheel will continue to control with the locking cone 37. This continues until a pin of the pin wheel pushes the toggle lever 29 aside and interrupts the electrical circuit at 30.
Since this interruption always follows the one in the striking mechanism, there will be no opening spark in the contacts of the recording mechanism.
The drawing shows the register for the operation of quarter and hour
