<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The barrel weight 35 is adjustably attached to an angle piece 36, which is articulated at 37 to the arm 38 of the rack 39. The latter is movably arranged in a longitudinal guide 40 ′ arranged in brackets or the like 40, and is in engagement with a toothed wheel 41 carried by the vertical axis 42. The axis 42 receives its rotary movement from the shaft 1 by means of the bevel gears 4, 9, 44. The angle piece 36 has an upwardly directed arm 45 with a roller 46 which can run on the lever arm 47 which can swing on the cutting edge and socket. The latter transmits the action of the barrel weight 35 to the balance beam 33 through a suitable connection 48.
Near the right-hand end, the shaft 1 has a gear 49 which transmits the rotary movement by means of the gear 50 to an axis 51 of the registration device.
The axle 51 actuates the axle 54 by means of the gears 52 and 53, which carries the type disks 55 provided with raised or similar numbers. The latter are set in rotation one after the other when the device is actuated, as in a conventional counter. The raised digits print on a card carried by a flap 56 when the flap is pressed against the digits in the manner described below after weighing becomes.
In addition to the gear 49, the shaft 1 carries a disk 57 with a lateral extension 58, with which an extension 59 of the arm 60 arranged on the sleeve 61 engages.
The sleeve 61 is slidable in the longitudinal direction on the rotatable bearing 62 of the shaft 1, but takes part in the rotary movement of the bearing in which the end of the shaft 1 is mounted, while the bearing itself in the bracket 2 can be rotated by means of the hand crank 64 . On the inner side, the bracket 2 has a helical surface 65 on which the correspondingly shaped side surface 66 of the sleeve 61 slides when the bearing 62 is rotated in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 1). The sleeve is pressed against the console by the action of a spring 67 which is fastened on the one hand to the sleeve and on the other hand to a pin 68 provided on the bearing 62 and protruding through a slot in the sleeve.
The sleeve 61 has a protruding lug 69 which engages a tab on the lever 70 when the sleeve is rotated. The lever 70 is seated

Next to the loose gear 6 sits a ratchet 72 into which one of the gear fui

which is connected to the balance beam 33 in a known manner, only needs to be depressed at 16 to lift the pawl 21 from the locking mechanism 23 and thus to free the shaft 1, which is immediately set in rotation by the action of the triple spring . The pawl 21 is held in its raised interference by the engagement of the pawl 30 via the bent arm 29 as long as the balance beam is pressed against the arm 31 after the action of the load to be weighed.
As soon as the shaft 1 is set in rotation, the running weight 35 is displaced to the right by the above-described transfer of movement, while the registration work 55 is actuated by the gear 49 at the same time. As soon as the running weight 35 has brought the balance beam into its equilibrium position, it leaves the stop 32 of the

is brought back into the normal position by the action of the counterweight 24 and the pawl 21 comes into engagement with the ratchet wheel 23 again. As a result, the shaft 1 and thus also the registration mechanism are brought to a standstill.
In order to print the weighing result on the card pushed into the flap 56, the hand crank 64 must be turned from left to right, with the projection 69 of

Sleeve 61 set the lever 70 in vibration and the flap 56 respectively. the card carried by the same presses against the raised digits of the type disks set according to the weighing to print the card. During the rotary movement of the hand crank 64, the sleeve 61 slides on the helical side surface of the console 2 and is approached in this way the disc 57, so that the shoulder 59 of the sleeve 61 meets the shoulder 58 of the disc 57 and the disc and thus also the Turn width J back to the starting position and at the same time reset the register to zero.
This return movement, which is not transmitted to the locking device (FIG. 2) due to the described arrangement of the gearwheel 6, brings the barrel weight back into its starting position and the balance is now ready for a second weighing.
In order to dampen the shocks generated on the moving parts when the pawl 21 suddenly engages in the ratchet 23 (after the equilibrium position has been established), the ratchet 23 is attached to the axle 11 by means of a suitable spring, so that the same has a certain flexibility in the sense of Movement receives. The gear 49 is fastened in the same way in order to dampen the shocks occurring when the projection 59 hits the projection 58.
In place of or in connection with the register, the present balance can be equipped with a dial 79 in order to display the weighing results. In this case, the shaft 1 carries a gear 80, which is in engagement with a gear 81 on the pointer axis, respectively, to the pointer simultaneously with the shaft 1. to set the registration mechanism 55 in motion.
The movement of the shaft 1 can be controlled by any device on the running weight. 35 are transferred; the transmission could for example be through a chain,
Rope or the like. Can be achieved in conjunction with appropriately arranged guide rollers.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 8, 9, 10, the lever arm 47 is designed with a flat surface on which a roller 46 rotatably mounted between the jaws 92, 82 can run. The jaws 82 are in one piece with the angle

The bolt 83 then lies between the vertical cutting edges which are arranged at the end of the angle piece 36 (FIG. 10). In this way, the bolt connecting the parts 36 and 38 can move vertically (by a few millimeters), so that during the oscillation of the balance beam the lever arm 47 and
