In Fig. 2, a tap combined with the associated switch is shown on a larger scale that by turning the common hand lever h, both devices are operated in the correct sense. The tap itself is carried out in the manner of a TeUervontile, namely the valve plate t is pressed onto its seat by the small eccentric e on the axis of rotation of the hand lever when the hand is turned hcbfJs h from the right to the left side (dotted). The electrical switch consists of the two resilient, fixed contact pieces c (Fig. 2 and 3), the contact pieces s which are also rotatable about the hand lever axis and which is coupled in a known manner to the hand lever h by means of a driver and spring.
In the position shown, ie when the valve disk is raised, the electrical switch is closed; when the hand lever is bypassed and the valve disk is lowered, it is opened.
The formation of the two combined parts, tap and switch, can of course take place in very different ways; Figures 2 and 3 only give an example of this. If a pump system of the type described is operated by a larger electric motor, which can no longer be started by simply closing the line, self-starters and any other suitable known means can be used to prevent excessive current surges. To prevent switching on the moteur. This does not change anything in the nature of the system described.
