Switching device for film roll rewinders
For rewinding the films in movie theaters, rewinding devices are usually used, which present a support frame with spindles onto which the empty or full reel is attached. The actual rewinding can be carried out with a drive by hand or by means of an electric motor drive. Since in the second case there is a risk that at the end of the rewinding process the end piece of the film will be released from the unwinding reel that has not been braked in time, on table edges and Like. Strikes and is thereby damaged, it is known to automatically switch off the electric drive of the take-up reel when the unwinding process is finished.
The automatic switching device will target the two
The film piece connecting the coils is attached and the film is passed under; it switches off when the end of the film passes through this device. However, since the free end of the tape at the moment of switching off, like the take-up reel, is under the effect of practically the entire kinetic energy of the rewinding process, the end of the film may hit edges and substrates again.
There is also the objection to this switching device that it bends the film and thereby stresses the most in its weakest area, namely the perforation; In addition, the film image surface is easily scratched.
The present rewinding device is free from this disadvantage because, although it provides for an automatic shutdown of the electric motor, it allows the time of this shutdown to be appropriately determined, for which purpose the shutdown is made dependent on the weight of the unwinding roll, d. H. The shutdown occurs when the remaining film on the unwinding roll shows a certain weight, which is a measure of the fact that the end of the film is approaching. The present switch-off device is designed in such a way that it not only switches off the drive motor, but also simultaneously initiates a braking process in a very simple manner.
In this way it is achieved that the winding drum, which has a considerable mass, especially with 70 mm wide films (weights of 25 to 35 kg of the full spool are normal), is slowly braked so that the free end of the film is free without hitting any material runs onto the circumference of the take-up reel. All of this is achieved without mechanical stress on the film and with full protection of the image surface.
The invention relates to a switching device for film roll rewinding devices, in which the film reel is placed on an axially movable support axis inclined to the horizontal and a braking surface is provided against which the reel rests upon axial displacement.
In this construction, the invention is characterized in that the lower end of the support axle rests on a spring, a locked control lever under spring tension is provided which, after its locking is released, acts on the spring and moves it away from the support axle Spring an attachment is attached, which occurs on a spring tongue and moves this when the spring passes through a predetermined position, and a stop for locking the control lever is attached to the spring tongue, the spring also acting on a contact spring located in the motor circuit of the coil drive and when they are moved by the control lever, their contact opens.
To explain the invention and its embodiments, reference is made to the drawings, in which an exemplary embodiment of the present rewinding device is shown schematically. Fig. 1 shows a known support frame for the take-up reel in partial cross-section, the
