Measurement arrangement for determining the dew point difference between the inlet and outlet of a climatic chamber
The invention relates to a measuring arrangement for determining the dew point difference between the inlet and outlet of a climatic chamber through which air flows, in particular for the cultivation and / or examination of plants, with a lithium chloride cell and using known temperature (dew point) sensors.
For transpiration studies on plants, it is necessary to be able to measure the smallest dew point differences if defined climatic conditions are to be maintained in the air-conditioned test chamber.
The invention relates to an arrangement for performing such measurements with the aid of known temperature (dew point) sensors. The invention makes it possible to measure the smallest differences between different dew points, u. between the difference and not the absolute amount of the two dew points is included in the measurement.
The invention is based on the fact that, in an arrangement of the specified type, according to the invention, the lithium chloride cell is arranged in a line branch running parallel to a heat exchanger through which the circulating air of the climatic chamber flows and provided with alternately actuatable valves between these valves and in front of an outflow opening leading into the open air the temperature sensor of this cell as well as a temperature sensor located in the air supply line of the climatic chamber and after the heat exchanger are placed in an electrical bridge circuit, in whose branch a measuring and / or recording device for reading the dew point difference is arranged.
According to another feature of the invention, the heat sensor located in the air supply line to the climatic chamber is designed as a platinum resistance thermostat, whereby particularly precise values are achieved.
Further details of the arrangement according to the invention will be explained with reference to the drawings, which in FIG. 1 show the device according to the invention in connection with a climatic chamber in a schematic representation and in FIG.
In Fig. 1, the climatic chamber is denoted by K, to which the supply air line Lz leads and from which the exhaust air line La leads away. These two lines and the climatic chamber itself, together with the fan V, form a closed circuit in which the air is circulated in the direction of the arrows drawn. A section of the circuit can be shut off by means of valve V1. Parallel to this section is a heat exchanger W which is thermostatted to the dew point temperature in order to regulate the moisture content of the air flowing to the chamber K. A temperature sensor T, which is advantageously designed as a platinum resistance thermostat, is arranged between this heat exchanger and the climatic chamber.
Another line branch is laid parallel to the heat exchanger W and contains two valves V2 and V3 as well as a chamber P between them, in which the lithium chloride cell L and a temperature sensor TL assigned to it are located. A line Q leads from the chamber P to the outside.
In Fig. 2 it is shown purely schematically that the two temperature sensors T and TL - these are temperature-dependent resistors - in both branches of one still the fixed or possibly

adjustable resistors RundR containing Wheatstone bridge are arranged. A measuring device is arranged in the cross arm of this bridge circuit, which can be designed, for example, as a writing recorder, as a display device - galvanometer - or as a two-color recorder. The bridge is powered by a current source (not shown) - since it is purely ohmic resistors, the current source can supply direct current or alternating current.
The measuring arrangement according to the invention works as follows:
Closing the valve Va causes the circulated air to flow through the heat exchanger W, in which it is brought to the dew point temperature. By alternately opening and closing the two valves V 2 and Va, air extracted from the circulating air line is now alternately supplied to the lithium chloride cell before and after the heat exchanger. Since the air coming from the climatic chamber on the one hand and air flowing to it on the other hand, the dew point difference between these two types of air is determined.
Because the bridge circuit is provided in which the temperature sensor of the lithium chloride or dew point cell is located in one branch and the other temperature sensor in the other branch, the smaller absolute value is suppressed to zero. This second temperature sensor is brought to the temperature value of the other dew point because it is arranged behind the heat exchanger. If necessary, the dew point difference can be read off directly on the measuring device M.
A connected two-color recorder would record the absolute values of the dew point of the two air flows.
The particular advantage of the arrangement according to the invention is that even the smallest dew point differences can be reliably registered with a single dew point cell. Due to the zero point suppression, dew point differences of, for example, 30C are displayed over the entire writing width of the recorder.
