Die Erfindung betrifft eine Umsteuprungsvorrichtung für solche Mehrzylindermaschinen, deren Ventile durch eine Daumenwelle gesteuert werden und besteht darin, dass auf der parallel zur Motorwelle angeordneten Daumenwelle ein Knopf verschiebbar angeordnet ist, der durch Federwirkung mit einem von der Motorwelle angetriebenen, auf der Daumenwolle lose sitzenden Stirnrad in einer von zwei bestimmten, die Steuerung in dem einen oder dem anderen Sinne beeinflussenden Stellungen in Eingriff gebracht wird und dadurch die Kupplung des Stirnrades mit der Daumenwelle bewirkt.
