Device for displaying the slip on friction drives
The invention relates to a device for indicating the slip on friction drives, in which the driving and the driven part each operate one of two independently rotating rollers which have exactly the same diameter and which act on a differential.
Various devices for measuring slip have become known. However, they either refer to the measurement of the slip between a thread and the surface that supports it. or devices are used for the comparative measurement of surface velocities, the actuation of which is only possible by applying a minimum torque of a magnitude that is already falsifying the measurement.
For example, speed quotient meters have become known in which there is an electrically conductive armature mounted so that it can rotate without directional force, in which eddy currents are induced as a function of the speeds, the torques of which counteract each other, and where the cross section of the armature in the eddy current area in the circumferential direction between two diametrically opposite points constantly changing.
A slip meter has also become known in which a shaft rotating at the differential speed between the frequency of the network and the speed of the motor is coupled to the display device for displaying the slip for a period of time corresponding to the network frequency.
Another known arrangement for measuring speed slip, in which the voltage of two single-phase alternating current transducers is superimposed and the frequency of the beating voltage generated is measured, has a special feature that the alternating current transducers have different gear ratios by engaging transmission gears or by designs with different number of pole pairs at the same speeds of the waves to be measured generate different frequencies, which are in a constant ratio, which is greater than the largest occurring speed ratio, and which is formed from the beat frequency to display the quotients.
In a further device for measuring slip between two drive rollers, two alternating current generators coupled to the rollers are used, which generate voltages with a rectangular curve shape and which are switched in such a way that the differential quotient of the voltages of the two frequency generators controls the control grid potential of one double triode or two simple triodes , which causes the discharge of two identical capacitors.
All these known devices are either in principle unsuitable for the purpose underlying the invention, namely the measurement of slip in wheel roller drives between the wheel roller and the driven surface, or they require such a high torque for actuation that only low accuracy can be guaranteed in the slip measurement .
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Finally, a slip measuring device is known which is applied to the shafts to be compared by means of two rollers. In this known device, the approximate size and the direction of the speed difference are indicated without recognizing the exact value by a disk rotating depending on the speed difference, which is driven by the cage of a differential.
Furthermore, in this device, because the speed of one of the two tapped drives is transmitted directly to a counter and the rotation of the differential cage is transmitted to a pointer, a comparative measurement can be carried out over a structurally predetermined number of rotations of one of the measuring wheels. After the predetermined number of rotations of the drive wheel picking up the comparison shaft, the measuring process is switched off and the pointer stops. The comparison of the distance that the pointer has covered during the measuring process and the display of the directly driven counter results in a ratio which provides information about the speed difference between the two pick-up wheels during the duration of the measurement.
The disadvantages of this known device are that a comparative measurement is not possible over a longer period of time, that the measurement accuracy is not particularly high at low speed differences and that no tendency is visible even during a measurement process that is long. The result is always an average over the entire measurement period.
The invention avoids the disadvantages of the previously known devices. The main advantage of the invention is that the entire startup process can be observed and recorded for evaluation. It is also of particular importance that the invention enables both a measurement that can be reproduced with high accuracy and also allows short-term speed fluctuations to be recognized. Furthermore, with the device according to the invention, a perfect and complete slip measurement, u. between the instantaneous values. Finally, a further advantage of the invention is that the object set is achieved in the simplest possible manner, the high measurement accuracy being achieved by the arrangement of form-fitting connections.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that each of the rollers arranged with mutually parallel axes consists of two identical, axially separated parts and in the space thus formed carries a coaxial gear that meshes with a further gear, which with a the bevel gears of the differential is coaxially firmly connected, and that the planetary gear of the differential rotates the sliding contact of a potentiometer via a shaft running between the two rollers parallel to their axes, the voltage of which is recorded by a known high-speed recorder.
With this design, the device according to the invention enables perfect slip measurements with immediate quantitative evaluation. The voltage to be tapped between the potentiometer input and the sliding contact is constantly recorded, creating a sawtooth curve, the jump of which occurs when the wiper crosses from the end to the beginning of the potentiometer. Since the start and end point of the tooth flank are always at the same level for a certain operating voltage, the slip can easily be read from the slope of the curve. The mode of operation of the slip indicator is explained in more detail using the drawing.
The two pairs of rollers 1, 2 and 3, 4 are attached to axles 5 and 6. In addition, the two axles carry the two gears 7 and 8, which mesh in the spur gears 9 and 10 that are fixedly coupled to the differential gears 11 and 12. Between the two bevel gears 11 and 12, the planet gear 13 is rotatably seated on a fastening piece 14 which is fixed on the shaft 16 with the aid of the screw 15. The sliding contact 18 is also attached to the shaft 16. The shaft 16 is rotatably supported at 19 and 20.
The operation of the device is easy to see. The two pairs of rollers 1, 2 and 3, 4
EMI2.1
speeds are the same (the diameter of the two pairs of rollers are exactly the same), the two gears 9 and 10 and with them the two bevel gears 11 and 12 rotate at the same speed, so that the planet gear 13 rolling on them does not make any spatial movement and that Fastening piece 14 and with this the shaft 16 stands. However, if one or the other rotating part runs at a greater peripheral speed, the speeds of the two pairs of rollers and thus the speeds of the two wheels 9 and 10 are different; the planetary gear compensates for the different speeds by describing a spatial rotation about the axis 16 as the axis of rotation, corresponding to the difference between the two speeds.
So it continues. at the same time this in rotating motion, the sliding contact 18 strokes the potentiometer 17 and thus changes constantly
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
its effective resistance.
The potentiometer with the sliding contact is connected in a manner known per se via a power source 22 to a high-speed recorder 21, shown schematically as a measuring instrument, which records a sawtooth curve, from the slopes of which the magnitude of the difference in the circumferential speeds and thus the magnitude of the slip directly with the aid of an appropriate measuring device can be read.
