Fuel containers for gas lighters

bent over to form a ring-shaped flange 2 running upwards at an angle. In this flange 2 of the jacket 1, an obliquely downwardly extending annular inner flange 3 of a pushed-on surrounding ring 4 engages. the bottom 6, which is made of transparent material and is pressed against a seal 7 inserted between the lower end of the container jacket 1 and the bottom 6 when it is flanged. However, this seal can also be omitted if the base consists of at least some elastic plastic.
The bottom itself then performs the sealing, in particular through its annular bead resting on the inside of the container jacket. If the surrounding ring 4 is made of metal, it should be non-oxidizing or at least the ring should be provided with a non-oxidizing layer on its outer surface. To increase the grip, the ring 4, which is designed as a handle and protrudes from the lighter housing (not shown), is circumferentially provided with corrugation 8.
During assembly, the connecting ring 4 is pushed onto the container jacket 1 until the two flanges 2, 3 interlock, then the base 6 is pressed against the lower end of the container jacket with or without the interposition of a seal 7. Finally, the lower edge 5 of the connecting ring 4, designated 5 ′ in its initial position, is bent into a circumferential recess 9 in the base 6.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the lower edge region of a container jacket 10 is bent to form an outer flange 11 on which an inner flange 12 of a surrounding ring 13 rests. In the lower area of this ring a circumferential projection 14 is formed on the inside, the cross-sectional profile of which essentially corresponds to a saw tooth. The projection 14 of the ring 13 is locked into an annular groove 15 of the base 16 with elastic deformation of at least one of these parts 13, 16. As shown, a seal 17 can be inserted between the lower end of the container jacket 10 and the base 16.
During assembly, the surrounding ring 13 is pushed onto the container jacket 10 until the two flanges 11, 12 lie on top of one another, whereupon the base 16 is pressed in after the seal 17 has been inserted. The bottom can consist of a somewhat stiffer plastic and it is mainly the ring 13 made of elastic plastic that deforms when it snaps into place. However, the bottom 16 is advantageously made of elastic plastic and the ring 13 is made of a harder material, e.g. B. metal. In this case, the bottom deforms during the latching process, and it may also be unnecessary to insert a seal between the latter and the container 10.
Numerous modifications are of course still possible within the scope of the invention. In particular, the design and arrangement of both the surrounding ring and the base can be varied, provided that the surrounding ring is designed as a handle.
